Hello Everyone,
We got home on Sunday 10/2 and I just cannot believe it. All that planning was so much fun!
We went from 9/24 - 10/2
There were 14 of us
Husband, Me, and our son Jared 4 3/4 with our 12 year old nephew
Sister, Brother in law and niece 5 years old
Sister, Brother in law and niece and nephew 6 and 8
My parents (celebrating there 40th anniversary)
And my Aunt (my mothers sister who is closer to my age then my mom's)
We stayed at the fort Wilderness Cabins - we had 5 cabins - sounds like a lot of cabins - my Aunt wanted her own and my parents had there own.
We loved the cabins - the beds were comfortable and having a bedroom was very convienent - they boys got so tired even my 12 year old nephew took some naps!
We did rent Golf carts - which the kids loved and so did we.
We also had the free plus dining and upgraded to deluxe - it was perfect for us because we did
CRT
Hoop Dee Doo
Narcoosee's
Artist Point
Breakfast at trails end numerous days
Crystal Palace
Beirgarten (sp?)
Hollywood and Vine
And then we just used the rest here and there and we had no worries about running out - it only cost me $264 an adult to upgrade and about $80.00 for the kids under 12 - so it was a great deal - plus the refillable mugs and tons of snack credits!
We also did
BBB
Pirate League
MNSSHP
Jedi Training
The girls LOVED the BBB - they were great and made such a big deal out of my nieces they felt so special.
The boys loved the pirate league and I do recommend it - the 12 year old really enjoyed it too.
I liked the halloween party - not a must do again. It was so packed - not the lines but just the park in general. The parade was awesome and seeing the headless horsemen was great!
I liked Toy story mania but I just don't get what the fuss is over.
I also got the kids signed up for the Jedi training - you really have to get there early - I was at hollywood and vine and got to get in line before rope drop and I still did not have a time until 4:45 - they only take 15 kids each session. It was so worth it - we were laughing so hard - the cast is great!! And you do need the kids with you to sign them up. I would do this over toy story mania any day!
It was a very busy trip - some days we would either get up early and do the park and stay at the resort for the rest of the day and night or sleep in and go in the afternoon and stay late in the evening. It was just too much work to go in the morning then back to the resort then back out at night.
You really lose track of time and the day's fly by. Before you know it 5 hours pass.
I did rent the stroller's in the park for my son, you can get around quicker. He is a big 4 year old so the umbrella stroller's just do not look right with him in it lol! I love the park stroller's they are so easy to push - I wish I did this the first couple of days so he would not get sooo tired!
So a quick rundown of Restaurants:
CRT:
I enjoyed this and the food was good - I got the tenderloin and I have to say it was delicions - we did not feel rushed at all.
Hoop Dee Doo:
My third time, all the husbands and kids first time. I love this show and the food is good, my 8 year old nephew was laughing so hard I really thought he was going to bust a gut.
It says to be there like an hour ahead - since it was my 3rd time I knew the drill and just got there for 15 minutes before - plus we were staying at the fort so it was super easy!
Beirgarten:
Sometimes gets a bad wrap - my dad loves the atmosphere here. The kids had so much fun, they would just go down to the dance floor and dance the whole time then come eat - I thought the food was good - I am not much of a buffet person, but you can find something for everyone - the salads were great and fresh!
Artist Point:
It was good - we got the filet and the mushroom soup. I would go again if staying close by
Narcoosee:
My 12 year old nephew was so happy he could get his own lobster. We are from New England so it's not such a huge deal for us, but I still got it and it was delicious and I love how it is cracked open. Funny thing is my son hated his macaroni and cheese here, but loved it at trails end and most of the places had the mac and cheese like trails end. I would only go here if I was on the dining plan, there is no way I would ever pay that kind of money for a lobster! And to get here was not easy since a lot of transportation shut down due to weather or something like that.
Crystal Palace:
I just love it here - being in the park and the puffed french toast is like eating fried dough - everyone fell in love with the puff french toast. It is seriously worth a trip going here just for that and you can get eggs cooked to order which is not usually the norm for a buffet.
Hollywood and vine:
Standard Breakfast buffet - good food and the staff was great and the kids loved getting up to dance!
Trails end:
Again standard breakfast buffet - I loved the cream of what and then they had this walnut/banana syrup concotion that was delicions and the staff here is great
I am looking forward to my next trip - not sure when but I do know two things
1st week of December
Polynesian (we have stayed here in the past and you just cannot beat the transportation)
That's all - any questions I would be more then happy to help!
