Just booked my hotel for Disneyland (timeshare, so used credits), then looked at park tickets. WOW - they have really increased - $1500 for my family of 5... Ugh. Could use any tips/tricks on saving, frugality, trip savings... We are driving, so little fuel. I plan to cook meals at the condo. Just need to save for the tickets and souveniers, etc. I read that someone buys a Disney GC every month. I'll try that... Any other tips would be so appreciated. Can't Wait! Christmas 2015 - here we come!

Buy tickets through orbitz and ebates. You'll get 3% back and if you are getting hoppers you can buy 3 days get a 4th free of buy 4 days get a 5th day free through orbitz. If you wait ebates sometimes puts out bigger cash back rewards for orbitz activities, but you have to jump on them when you can.

Survey mini is a neat little app that have us a couple of gift cards that we used on our trip.

If you plan to eat out at all use coupons, kids eat free, etc whenever possible. With a bit of research you can save big bucks in this area.

If you have disney movies around the house sign up for disney movie rewards and redeem your magic codes. You can sometimes score $10 disney gift cards there.

Thanks! I just signed up for swagbucks, but I'll look at Survey mini too. Anything to give me a little extra cash.

Shop through ebates.com and cheaptickets, you will get 6.88% cash back!

I just reserved our room also. We are going in December too. I'm going to keep my eye open at orbits thru ebates, to see if the cash back increases for tickets. I'm also doing swag bucks and a couple survey sites, as well as perk tv to save money for the trip.

I'm super excited. Can't wait for the official December thread haha. Good luck to ya!

I usually stock up on paper product, cleaners and food at target when they have the $5 or $10 gift cards. I am buying stuff we need and when I use my red card it is even cheaper. I have bought $100 worth of Disney gift cards with the free cards I have been saving up.

You will want to sign up for email at MouseSavers.com for their link for discount tickets. Just getting base tickets without park hoping will save several dollars.
It sounds like you may need a part time job to save for the trip. Putting GC away, SAMs sells the $142 for $150 @ 3 $50 cards for food and purchases.

I almost regret our last trip. I had tickets from a previous trip, we stayed off site, fly a budget airline, it was really inexpensive. But now I find I really need that buffer in our savings. Dental issues came up, increase in property taxes, and unexpected medical bills. I can't believe I used that money for a Disney trip now.

My work hours decreased and dh laid off from pt job. Didn't see that coming.
