Just refused the same two deserts I got earlier on the DDP

They made this change awhile ago at other resorts and Main ST Bakery. The reason why it sometimes gets by for awhile off and on is that a nice CM will just ring it up as something else for you so it gets accepted by the ddp. On one trip a few years ago the bengiets at PO-FQ were taken off the snack list but nice cm's kept ringing them up for me but then one day suddenly one said it wasn't allowed and hadn't been for weeks and they figured out what had been going on and rang it up one last time as a snack for me. I never knew it wasn't allowed until I was specifically told because it was going through. A few weeks after that they were back on the snack list though ;) I think the big sundaes and ice cream sandwiches are gone gone gone though :(

yep...3 pack of beignets are a snack, but no ice cream sandwiches for a snack at POFQ. When we first started staying at POFQ, you could get either the 3 pack or the 6 pack of beignets for a snack credit, but then they changed it a couple of years ago to just the 3 pack. Still good, though.

let the speculation stop!!!! I spoke with the a manager :thumbsup2
When I arrived they were an acceptable desert's on the dining plan, as of Oct 3rd they were no longer.

The three items that can no longer be ordered as desert on teh DDP @ AStar Movies are

Ice Cream Brownie Sundae
Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich
Double dip Waffle Cone

these threee items have been removed from the dining plan .. we can all guess as much as we want about why.. but they are gone RIP :confused3

:goodvibes

Our family enjoyed these things almost daily at Music in September. They were available on DDP as desert but not snack.
It makes even the QS plan less appealing when they keep cutting back.

So you can't get them as a dessert, but what about as a snack?

I had a few thoughts about this. First off I wonder if it was a possible mistake earlier in your trip? Maybe it wasn't supposed to be a dessert then either, and it wasn't enforced?

The other thought is that we usually see lots of changes during Free Dining or September/October. That may be because Disney's new Fiscal year starts on October 1st.

you beat me to the fiscal year comment... while it seems a random date to most, it is the end/beginning of the year for disney, fiscally speaking... therefore, it's not as random as it may appear...

as far as enforcing policies... well, that's a whole 'nother thread or three!

i am sorry the OP was disappointed, but look at it this way, you were able to enjoy it the first time... be glad :)

(oh, and when those were allowed, we totally shared... one large pizza, two fountain sodas, two of those cookie desserts, two CS credits = dinner for our family of four!)

So you can't get them as a dessert, but what about as a snack?

They have never been allowed as a snack here at ASMo or at least not for the past few yrs we have been staying here. There was a sign that indicated this, but it has now been taken away.

I have little understanding for the nickel and diming on the DDP - many people forget the DDP is not FREE to everyone, ourselves included, we are AP holders and often pay for the dining plan. The price increase issue is not so great an argument, as the price of the plan does go up every year and this should be used to cover such expenses. When a Co makes a change due to poor planning, in sends a message for me to beware. Would you like to plan your trip paying for a moderate resort, but arrive to get a value since the cost or room rate went up before or during your arrival or because Disney found they weren't charging enough???

If Disney is going to set a price point that each item must make a certian percentage of profit or not be allowed this will surely turn into a bad value for customers, for example will I only be able to get the $1.00 cheese option (at epcot) but not the pretzel to accompany it?? yes the cheese is a credit in Epcot and so is the pretzel = two credits surely a huge profit on that cheese. My point, some things make a greater profit than others for sure, the value of the plan is to feel like you may be saving a bit here and there, when that is gone, there will be no use for the DDP and people will once again stay off site more, eat more meals off property and bring more of there own food into the parks, allowed or not.

:confused3:headache::sad2::sick::sad1::mad:

Another one bites the dust!!! Figures.....

more cuts....cuts....cuts...cuts....

There should be a price point on snack credits PERIOD. I am truly confused how Disney goes to "rule" snack credits...just doesn't make sense to me. I see it as another RIP if anything
