Just Quit My Job... At 4:47 am EST

I'm sorry you had to deal with that kind of mess.
It never ceases to amaze me that there are people still like this out there.

Life is too short to be around negative people.

Congrats on taking the bull by the horns and moving on.

You will have better days ahead, I 'm sure.

Good luck.
Lisa

You definately made the right decision to move on....good luck if you decide to take action ::yes::

I'm sorry this happened to you LB. I hope your new job is great. And I hope the knuckleheads at your old job all get warts!

Hang in there Josh! I say good for you! No one should have to put up with that. I hope you Love your new job!

No advice here, either, other than to agree that was definitely harassment.

You did the right thing getting out of it.

Good for you! I kind of did the same thing on Feb 9th of this year! I worked at the place for 2 years. They were some of the most miserable and ungrateful people to work for! I had a set schedule because of my son being Autistic -only certain people could watch him. Well after being there for 2 years they told me I HAD to work days that I couldn't AND they actually wrote me up because the month before I had to leave early to go to the ER because I was having chest pains. ( I think it was more anxiety because I hated that place)

Anyhoo! After our little meeting, I stewed for a while..then I went to lunch...and well...I'm technically still out to lunch LOL. Of course I'm still looking for a job so it may not have been the smartest move financially, but it sure felt good lol.

Glad your new job starts soon and that you are out of the old one. It doesn't sound like it was worth hanging around with those folks for another week. It's their loss.

I wish you the best, No one needs to be harrassed at work.

I just received an e-mail back from my boss. He only wrote a little, but part of it said:

" I do have one question for you what was said and what do you mean by you were apprehensive by my reaction and the reaction of some of your co-workers. I wished you could have come and talked to me if you had any troubles."

Like what would he have said to make me feel better if I'd gone in there and told him I was gay and didn't appreciate his or others behavior??

Everyone has the right to work in an atmosphere that is free of harassment. Even if you were not gay, that type of behaviour can be considered harassment. You can contact the EEOC and file a complaint and they should look into it. Even if you don't want anything, the employer needs to know that his behavoir and that of the other employees in illegal.

Absolutely! Everyone has the right to work in a "hostile free" work environment, regardless of sexual orientation. Your boss, of all people should know better.

Good luck with your new job!
