Just purchased at OKW

My wfe and I have stayed at OKW on rented points for the past 2 years and after the last visit in November we decided to buy into DVC.

We purchaed from TSS, 300 points with an October use year for OKW and there is 141 points left on the current year. We are schedualed to close on Feb 1st. I have a few questions that I think I know the answers to but I wanted to aks the experts.

The 146 points, if I can not use them before October and want to bank them, when would that have to be done by?

The 11 month window for booking at your home resort is 11 months from when? Check in date or Check out date? How pickey are they about this? Is on 11 calender months or is it 330 days?

Again any help would be greatly appricated.

June is your banking deadline, and the 11 month booking window is 11 months from the date of checkout. For example: you want to travel arriving Nov. 1 and checking out Nov. 10, you can call Dec. 10 or later to make the whole reservation at once, or you can book day by day starting on Dec. 2.

Just wanted to add that you might have been at OKW the same time we were this last November. We were there from the 18-29!

Another clarification on the booking windows. From 11 months down to 7 months ahead of travel, you can book your home resort, and that is an exclusive window for home resort owners only. At 7 months out, the reservations can be made by an owner of any other DVC resort as well as those with their home resort. That means your least competition for the type of unit you desire is going to be up to 7 months out. If you are going to travel during high DVC occupancy times, you should call as soon as that window opens up. If the GV is your main focus, you will want to make day by day ressies at the 11 month window. For anything else and at normal times, calling anytime before the 7 month window opens should be sufficient. Just be advised that popular DVC times are not always the same as popular Park times.

Thank you for clearing this up for me, this is what I thought but I wanted to make sure. The banking deadline is June but done that mean I have to bank them by the end of June or before June so my deadlimne would be May 31st?

We were there from Nov 23 to Dec 1, so we were there at the same time. It was the first time we were there at that time of the year and the weather was sooo much nicer than the last two times, Aug 05 - ASM, June 06 - OKW, both times the weather was miserable. We have decided that we only want to go when the weater is nicer.

Your banking deadline is May 31. And they ARE fussy about exact dates, whether it be booking at 11 months, canceling or banking.

There isn't a list per se of popular DVC times, but basically, it will be any holiday time PLUS all Of the Food and Wine festival dates get popular with the Epcot area DVC resorts and ALL DVC resorts are very popular from Thanksgiving through New Years. New Year's eve is the single most difficult day to book in the system.
