We are almost 60 days out for our DLP trip and I'm getting ready to make the dining reservations. We will only be there for 3 days and most likely will never go to DLP again. So I would like to experience as many restaurants as possible. So my question is....can you making dining reservations and just order dessert and a drink? I thought it might be fun to have dinner in one restaurant and dessert in another. I don't want to waste a lot of time waiting for tables and I don't want to do it if it is considered rude but if we can make it work I love to do this. Any thoughts?

no i idea if you can do this but sounds like an excellent idea would love to do something like this esp as some of the main menu are not too my taste

I don't think you can especially if it's during peak season. Having said that I have never tried

I,ve also never tried this but i believe folk on other forums have asked about this at table service restaurants at dlp and have been told no they cant do this unless its at a time when the restaurant is very quiet. So i guess that would rule out normal mealtimes.

We ordered dessert and coffees at The Lucky Nugget Saloon last month without any problems. It was spur of the moment thing and we did not have reservations, it was about 3pm on the Saturday afternoon and the resturant was not very bussy.

We just popped our heads around the door to have a look at the resturant as it has always been closed on our trips and found that the band was playing on stage and so we decided to ask for a table and we ordered some coffees and a dessert to share.

the Lucky Nugget isn't really table service though is it - you pay and order at the counter as you come in.

Last month we were shown to a table, ordered with a CM and were given the bill at the end and then had to go to the cash desk at the front to pay the bill.

May be they change the ordering system depending on how busy the resturant is?
It was cold, it was snowing, and we were not the only poeple coming in for a hot drink to warm themselves up.

I wonder if the Lucky Nugget has changed yet again then?

What if you made a late night reservation? Do you think you could order dessert then? Could the dining reservation agents answer this?

Which restaurants were you thinking of trying this in? i doubt the dining reservations line would be able to give you a definitive answer and it may be down to restaurant manager discretion.

I wanted to try Walt's, Blue Lagoon or King Ludwig's. Sounds like it's not done. That's no problem, we will just try them all and eat A LOT!
