I can't get NFL ticket or even the NFL network through my current cable company.
We don't have Verizon FIOS as of yet. I can get their internet and phone but the cable part has to be Direct TV.

I hope I didn't make a mistake. :scared:

Direct TV > Cable

You should be happy with the results.

My parents have had DirecTV since it was Primestar. They absolutely love it.

Myself, I love my FiOS TV, but I know it's not available everywhere. If I didn't have FiOS, I'd probably have DirecTV.

I love my Dtv. They really cater to their customers. I called and told them I wanted to cancel because new customers got better offers....they handed me 3 free months.

I remember when it was Primestar.

The only thing I don't like about my DirectTV is my DVR is automatically filled with PPV movies so that the capacity is cut in half. Sometimes there is nothing automatically recorded, then one day half of the stuff we've specifically recorded is wiped out because of all the PPV.

Is there a setting that says do not delete till I say or is it set to automatically delete as it gets full.

We LOVE DTV!!!!! We are moving next week, and cancelling out FIOS and going back to DTV. Their DVR was better, and their packages give you more channels for less money. We are also going with the NFL Sunday Ticket, they are giving us all the premiums for the first 4 months. Cant wait to have my DTV back!

I have never heard of this and we have had Directv for 10 years.

Are you paying for each of those movies and asking your DVR to record them? If not, it shouldn't be happening.

Ours use to do that. I can't remember how we did it but somehow we turned off the "record suggestions" part. Look through your settings and see if anything pops up.

I love Direct tv. We've had it for years. when my bill goes up, I always call and they give me a better offer.:thumbsup2
Oh, by the way, the NFL Sunday ticket is offering a free trial this weekend. Check out the cannels beginning on 701 this Sunday to see the games!

We have had it for several years and have been very happy with it.
We seldon lose the satellite...usually happens during a REALLY bad storm, and then ti comes back fairly quickly.

Actually, Primestar was a different company. DirectTV bought them out, and shut them down.
My father in law yanked his Direct out after the swtich. Primestar leased everything to customers, and if it broke, they fixed it. His equipment broke, Direct said he would have to buy new equipment at his expense. I think it was just a kink during the transition because DirectTV has cleaned up their act since.

Same here. We did have a day with no satelite last year, but that was because of a blizzard. We continued to have spotty reception for a few days until some of the snow melted.

Other than a few bad-weather days, we are very pleased. I tried cable for less than a year but quickly switched back.

Phew. you guys are making me feel much better about my decision.
I also get NFL ticket to go so I can watch on my computer and my phone! :woohoo::woohoo:

I think that you will like Directv opposed to cable. We do lose service during good old Florida thunderstorms. When that happens, I just switch over to the DVR.

Had it for 10 years. LOOOVVVVVEEEE it! We dont lose reception for more than an hour. Ever during blizzards, ice storms, etc!
