Okay, I'm still debating whether I want to order a bathingsuit from LandsEnd. It's scary buying a swimsuit without trying it on ;) .

How do the sizes run? Large? Small? Like a size 14--would that be a K-Mart 14 or a Liz Claiborne 14?

As anyone ever ordered a skirted suit? I'm looking at a V-neck tankini top with the slimming skirt. If a skirted suit is cut right, I think they are very slimming. I just hope it doesn't look old lady-ish.

Can I return if it doesn't fit right?

I'll shut up now. Thanks.

Barb,

I do find that Lands End sizes run true to the measurements they publish. If you're near a Sears store, you can try some on for size. Even if they don't have your style/color, you'll know what size to order.

As much as you'll spend on a good swimsuit, you do want to have confidence that it will fit well!

I have occasionally returned Lands End merchandise with no trouble (usually because I made a mistake in the size I ordered.)

Cool! I didn't know Sears carried Lands End. I will definitely go there first and see what they have in stock!

We order Lands End all the time. A bit pricier, but this stuff never wears out! (my dd is a slow grower and can get two summers out of dresses or two winters out of pants and they all look good as new!)

I currently have 3 Lands End swim suits (we have a pool and I'm in them a LOT in the summer) I meausured myself and bought according to their size charts. They all came and it was like putting on a glove. They all fit wonderful....I actually would like them to run really really BIG so I could order a size 4 and put it on MY body!!

I've bought things from Lands end that for some reason I changed my mind about. You just have to mail it back insured mail (priority is how I usualy send it) and they'll credit your credit card. You will not be reimbursed for shipping though.

Now that Sears carries Lands End, it's nice to go and try things on. ALTHOUGH...I've bought a few things there that I NEVER would have bought through a catalog, so it's costing me MORE money to go into Sears!

HTH!

Wahhhhh! None of the Sears stores in NY carry Lands End.

You're right about it being pricey. The mix and match top and bottom I want will put me out $100! Ouch! And I can't put it on my virtual model.

I can second (or third) the good quality of the Lands' End products. I am fortunate enough to have a Lands' End Inlet (Outlet Store) about 10 minutes from my home here in Rochester, NY so I do tend to go there lots and spend way more than I should.

The suits I have were bought back in 1997 and I have not had any that have faded, worn (except for on the rear-end area when I go down those waterslides with DS) or had any problems with any of them. I highly recommend those suits.

For those in NY--I'm not sure where you live but if you are ever planning a trip to Rochester or Buffalo you might want to check the Inlet out!

I only had one problem with a LE bathing suit once. It was eaten through by the high chlorine in the hot tub. I didn't realize it, but it was making it see through (eating away at all of the spandex-y fibers) YIKES!! I called LE, b/c it wasn't THAT old, and she asked about hot tub use. (gulp) She recommended rinsing it with water after each use. She also said DO NOT swim or go in the hot tub and then lay out in the sun. It'll reak havoc on the suit. She said to make sure you rinse any chlorine with plain water between swim/hot tub and sun.
HTH

Barb,

Sears bought Lands' End a few months ago. Since that time, they have put "Lands' End Shops" in a few of the larger Sears stores.

So that's the short version of the partnership story!

(And yes, the apostrophe is in the wrong place. It seems a printer made a typo very early in the company's history, and they chose to keep the misspelling.)

I love Land's End swimsuits because they have Talls in almost every size. Not that I'm tall, I'm 5'4" but have a long torso. Their swimsuits are the only ones I feel comfortable in. They also carry the lower cut leg openings. Diana
