Just one day: Which park for an 8-years-old?

It´s soon time for our third vacation in Florida. This time we only have two nights in Orlando, Feb 10-12, so we only have time for one park. But which one...?

First time, 2001, we went to Magic Kingdom, with our 4-years-old son. Great!
Second time, 2003, to Magic Kingdom again, and Universal Studios, this time with a 6-years old. Even greater!
And this time, with a 8-years-old to....?

The times before we stayed at HIFS, and liked it a lot. Now it has changed into Nickelodeon, and there doesn´t seem to be any good rates to be found anymore, so perhaps we should try onother resort. But there are sooo many... We like a suite with two bedrooms (we are trying to make our friend from Miami to join us, and want her to have a bedroom of her own).

Most greatful for all suggestions about which park to choose, and where to stay!

Greetings from snowy Scandinavia!

I still think your best bet is MK. MGM has more shows than rides, which can be boring to an 8 year old. Animal Kingdom might be fun, what is he in to? EPCOT would be the last park on my list.

Much more to do there vs. other parks for his age.

Mk would still be my first choice- then either MGM or AK. If they like thrill rides TOT and RnRC are excellent and the Indiana jones show- but on the other han my fav is It's Tough To Be A Bug at AK. Also here the dinosaur ride, safari, Kali river rapids and that twirling ride in Dinoland.

Hard call :guilty:

MK still seems to capture the Magic of Disney best. I like Epcot, but if you are from Scandinavia, it might not have the thrill factor. My son (8) loved Test Track at Epcot. It was his favouritre ride in all the parks. I haven't been to UO or IOA.

I will my vote for MK. Although my family much prefers Epcot and Animal Kingdom to MK, you haven't been to Disney if you don't make a stop at MK.

I have three girls with the youngest just turning 9. Last trip we focused mostly on MK because they were all young princesses at the time however this time we are going to focus more on MGM and Epcot.

I think for kids, if you have already done MK, then try MGM or Epcot. Although Epcot is great it really does not hold a child's attention except for some of the rides.. MGM is great for that especially the Indiana Jones show, tours, other shows, characters from Toy Story, etc. Again depends on how mature your 8 year old is. If he's still a real kid, nothing beats MK.

I just asked my 8 year old, and she said MK, with AK as a second choice. She really loved the "mountains" at MK.

MK definately. Even though you've been there before now your Ds will probably love the "mountains" ~ Space Mountain, Splash Mountain & Thunder Moutain. Also Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. That part of the magic of the MK. We mark our childrens growth by the rides they can do each trip and each trip it changes just a little. I know my 4 yr old can't wait till he's a big boy and can go on Tower of Terror.
