Just off the Wonder

We got off of the Wonder a week ago and received the bag and 2 luggage tags. We are silver so not sure why we got the luggage tags too.

I agree, great post! Love hearing when people have a positive experience and a great time. My eco-friendly self loves hearing about the cloth napkins & paper straws lol. I have to try those chocolate Martinis on my next cruise! Glad the food was good for you as well. Kinda sucks though about the tax on CC! I’m bringing PooPuri spray with me on the next cruise in case anything or anyone gets smelly. It’s a great deodorizer overall. I’ve always been hesitant about taking a cruise in Jan/Feb, so I’m glad to hear the weather was nice for you. My last Disney cruise was in 2000 when I was 7 years old..I don’t remember much, but I do remember how fun those Sail Away parties were. Good memories :flower1:

If you're Gold or Platinum you should have gotten the luggage tags. I would ask next time.

We had 3 rooms, 2 platinum and 1 gold. none received the tags. And not all in the same location, so not sure if they were just out or what.

OP, thanks for sharing. Do you know how full your ship was? And can you provide more info on the after pirate party buffet?
According to the website a couple of days before the cruise there were still a few cabins left. I don't think the ship was near capacity as we never felt that it was crowded. I am thinking it was because most school age kids were not on any type of break. Mostly we saw younger kids and very few teenagers. Even the Sail A Wave and the Pirate parties were less crowded than on past cruises.

The pirate buffet was open as soon as the fireworks were over. It may have opened earlier but that is when we got there. It was very crowded but I believe there were 4 stations with the same items so everyone was able to spread out. There were turkey legs, tacos and I am not sure what else. We were still full from dinner so the token turkey leg was all I could handle, lol. I do not remember seeing the buffet listed on the Navigator or the app but I may have just overlooked it.

January and February weather is very unpredictable. When we returned on Sunday it was cool and rainy so you never know. But it sure beats the weather up north!

We were on the Wonder for a 3nt 2/7 - 2/10. Here are a few tips/highlights of our cruise.

1. Jo is on the Wonder until May. She is so much fun and we were excited to see her again.
2. The Sail a Wave party was amazing. The music, dancing and overall experience was top notch.
3. There were a few changes to Disney Dreams. Nothing spectacular but previous cruisers will pick up on what they are.
4. Our servers were absolutely amazing. We had Stefan (Slovakia), Katie (Great Britain) and Kendal was the head server.
5. We have no complaints about the food. The best thing I had was Shrimp and Grits in Tiana's Place. Best thing I have had, ever. And I do not like grits, so that is saying something.
6. It seemed like the onboard booking specialist was more accessible than before. She was almost always at the desk when I was on deck 4.
7. We had Tritons, AP and TP as our dining rotation and table 65 which was a great location in all three dining rooms
8. We had no problem with the paper straws. We were given them on CC.
9. There is now 1/2 and 1/2 in Cabanas (about time), yay. The reason we were given is there are no more plastic containers of Coffee Mate in order to cut down on plastic.
10. In the bars they are now using cloth napkins for drinks to sit on.
11. The cabin was in great shape. We were in 5635 Deck 5 aft. There was a slight odor at times in the bathroom but nothing we couldn't live with.
12. Natalie is the current cruise director.
13. Guest services will check you in for your flight home and print boarding passes.
14. Castaway Cay - water was cool but ok once you were in it for a bit.
15. Platinum gift is still the same backpack with 2 luggage tags. Not complaining, just providing info.
16. Luggage arrived at the cabin in record time. I think we had it by 2:30.
17. Lots of little kids on board and they were so much fun to watch. The characters and crew went out of their way to make the kids feel special. We saw it everywhere.
18. We found out from our server that DCL is moving dining teams around as quite a few on the classic ships have not experienced how things operate on the bigger ships. Getting prepared for the new ships.
19. Weather was amazing for February.
20. Don't forget about the treats in Cove Cafe. Try the Cranberry Bars and the Rice Krispy treats on a stick.
21. Strawberry/Banana ice cream at least one day on the ship. Chocolate/Vanilla on CC.
22. We could view our account on the app. I don't remember that before so maybe something new?
23. Tax on CC purchases was 12%. Yikes!
24. There was a buffet after the pirate party. It was crowded but got my turkey leg! Our server actually mentioned the buffet at dinner on Pirate night. I had always felt before that is was kind of a secret, lol. I don't remember it ever being mentioned in the Navigator.
25. We had absolutely no issues using the app. As long as we kept it open on our phones we received texts immediately. It worked great on CC.
26. For some reason the Promenade Lounge always has the best chocolate martinis.

If I think of anything else I will post later. If you have any questions please ask! We had a great time but 3nts are not nearly enough. We live in central Florida and had company down from up north so decided to squeeze in a 3nt while they were visiting. DCL never fails to amaze.
Thanks so much for the information! Getting excited for our Panama Canal cruise next week and we were wondering who the host was going to be for our voyage. We haven't been on the Wonder since it was spruced up last dry dock so I am looking forward to seeing all the changes! We were on Transatlantic in September and the app had our account charges on there at that time. Really good to see that on the app. Thanks again!

terrific!! Great Report! I'll be sailing on her on February 17th and the 21st! I'll have to go and try a chocolate Martini in the Promenade Lounge now. The paper straws are kind of odd to drink out of. Took some getting use too.
Now all I can think about is a Chocolate Martini!! :)

We were on both the feb 7th and feb 10th cruises. We were surprised to see the drink of the day price also increase by nearly $1. We were on the Fantasy in November and the price was $10 ish for 2 drinks. This time they were $12ish for 2 drinks ($13ish on castaway because of tax for 2 drinks). Still a great price. I didn’t know about the 12% tax....wow.....

Note, there were some sling bags that were defective. You couldn’t adjust the strap. We knew and exchanged ours.

On the CC tax note. I posted this information 2nd hand. My DD17 told me and I didn't see it for myself; so maybe it is not 100% accurate. She inherited my "halfway reads everything" disease, lol. If anyone else can verify the tax rate it would be appreciated:)

Yes you were right. I checked my receipt after reading this and sure enough it’s 12%. I was there last week.
