I just got off the Wish this morning. I traveled with DD who is 12, DS who is 14 and my dad in his 80's. Happy to answer questions.
We really loved it. We have cruised the Dream before, and though we are hoping to sail the Dream again in the future, each of us prefered the Wish overall. I really liked the adult area because it's on a dead end, so no one is passing through. The food was very good and the service outstanding. There are a few minor things I would change but it was an incredible experience.

I'm glad someone agrees! I've been seeing a lot of folks feeling dissatisfied with the adults only area, but DW and I both thought it was nice and secluded! (Disclaimer, the Wish is our first DCL ship, so our opinions may shift as we see the rest of the fleet, but for the time being we liked it a lot!) 8-)

Hi! We are booked to go on the Wish for our first DCL later this summer. Our girls are the same age as your children. I was a tad concerned about that when I booked our trip. Did your kids seem to have a good time? Anything in particular they liked or did not like? Thank you!

Hi BradleyCB,

They had a fantastic time! My daughter chose to stay at the Oceaneers club but was told that she could swivh between that and the Edge anytime she wanted. She never did go to the Edge because she made a few good friends the first night and wanted to keep seeing them. My son also could switch between the Edge and the Vibe but the same thing happened with him. He made friends at the Vibe and he spent most of his time there. I was also pretty comfortable letting them roam the ship on their own with their friends since they had phones (Dcl navigation app) and there was really no where they could get lost. The pools are shallow and have life guards so I didn't even need to tell them to not to swim without me. They loved the resturants and the Cast members. They both exchanged phone numbers with a few of the friends they made and have been busily texting since we left. They both didn't want to leave. I think they enjoyed it more than I did and I had a fantastic time!

I too really enjoyed the Wish and its Adult Areas. I liked that the infinity pool and hot tub felt more private. I actually like the choice they made to have it as a dead end.

Really at this point, the only major thing I need them to fix is the Elevators. They need to get something like Coronado Springs where the elevators work together better and you don't have to look for the right elevator, it just sends you the correct one. We spent so much time waiting for the higher floors (12, 13) that it was a common joke with other passengers.

I totally agree about the elevators and I didn’t like the room refrigerator. It didn’t really work

Thank you! We were nervous since they are in that tween and teen phase. This gives me hope.

Did you like the stateroom you were in? We have verandas on Deck 6 next to elevators and was wondering if it was noisy> Did you receive the inaugural bag?

I did not receive the inaugural bag. Just the normal castaway club one. I was way aft, so I can't tell you for sure. Where I was, was nice and quiet.
Oh darn!! I was about to ask if you got the inaugural bag! Because we are sailing very soon and I HEARD from a vlogger that usually they do give out inaugural gifts during most or all the sailings during the first year? This will be our first DCL cruise so I have no idea!

Someone on here posted the Wish ran out of inagural bags about a month ago (with no apparent plans to get more).

I'm bummed too, as I'm sailing on the Wish in late April and was hoping for the inaugural bag.

Ugh that's disappointing! I mean it is free and DCL has no obligation to even gift them, but I'm still a bit bummed! Meanwhile, people are selling that bag anywhere between $75 -150, CRAZY! No thanks, I don't need a canvas tote bag that bad....lol!

I got one on 1/23.

I forgot about that. I brought a six pack of IPA's onboard and it never got cold enough for me. I don't like luke cold beer. I heard the people across the hall complaining to their room host about the fridge on the first day. The fridges on the other ships have always kept my beer and water cold. We were on the Magic in August and I bought beer in several of the northern European ports and it was always icy cold.

Yay! Maybe they have more now!
Possibly, but I wouldn't count on it. I just re-checked the thread where this was discussed, it looks like they ran out end of January (so I was a little off in my estimate of about a month ago, it was more like two weeks ago).
