Already missing my stateroom and the awesome cast members! I'm going to post a full trip report, but in the meantime - any questions? We saw most of the shows, used the Club/Lab and Edge, ate in I think every spot on board that offered food, did a bunch of games, and enjoyed Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Castaway Cay!

I can't wait to be back on the Magic in October! As soon as we step off, I miss it. What did you do in Cozumel? We are currently debating what to do.

We had an amazing day in Cozumel. We booked a private Jeep tour through Cozumel Cruise Excursions - I was nervous about doing something on our own but it worked out really well. We had a really personable guide, Israel, who took us snorkeling and then to see a bunch of other sites. It was my son's first time snorkeling, and Israel was really great with him. It was probably my favorite excursion that we did.

what did you do in Jamaica and Grand Cayman? How long did it take for the tenders in Grand Cayman? Tell me about the port area at Grand Cayman... Thinking of skipping an excursion there and just checking out the port.

In Jamaica we did Dunns Falls and the Bobsled ride at Mystic Mountain. It was fun, but I'm not sure I would want to repeat it. The tenders were actually much faster than I expected, but we didn't rush off the boat first thing when I imagine it would have taken longer. The port area is very nice - probably the most "Westernized" of them all. There are the usual souvenir shops mixed in with very expensive namebrands. Plenty of beaches within walking distance and oceanfront restaurants that let you jump in for snorkeling from their outside dining area.

I did save my Navigators, but I have to figure out how to scan them in:-). We did two tastings, the Wine from Stem to Stern and the Chocolate and Liquors. Wine was on the first sea day at 12 and the chocolate was the same time on the second sea day. There was a Mixology class at 2 and a whiskey tasting at 10pm also on the first sea day, and a cognac tasting on the second sea day.

Do you know if there was a tequila/margarita tasting?

Hi Samara,
We are booked to do the falls and bobsled thing in Jamaica. Is this excursion worth the $$$ or would you recommend something else?

Northof54 We almost didn't do it because of the cost, but I really do think both things are worth doing at least once. I looked at booking both things privately but couldn't make it work out. The Dunn's Falls thing you could just show up and do yourself, but Mystic Mountain doesn't like cruise passengers booking without being part of an excursion. The actual bobsled ride was my favorite thing all day! The chairlift ride up is really pretty and the lunch included is good. So yes, worth doing once, I'm just not sure I would repeat it.

Danielle, I am pretty sure there was but I will need to dig out my Navigators to check the times. I'll get back to you...Haven't even started unpacking yet!:-)

I also vote to do it. My family including kids 7, 9, 11, y/o did it in March. It was one our favorite things we have done together. If you have small kids, they can get cold in the water and may not want to make it to the top of the falls, our 47 inch 7 y/o got cold in a deeper area of water but wanted to keep going and was glad she did. I know a few families with small kids who stopped half way. btw, My wife bought hew water shoes at the falls for $10 and they had some she actually liked in Jamaican colors.

At the top of Mystic Mountain make sure you go to the hummingbird area. We went to take a look and saw many hummingbirds including the awesome doctor bird, the national bird of Jamaica. the male has a super long forked ribbon like tail and we felt like we were watching a creature from the movie Avatar. I would have like to spend more time on the mountain. It rained for a bit and slowed the bobsled line down. We all would have liked to do the bobsled twice; I'm not sure if we could have bought our own second ride ticket, but we did not have time. My wife was mad she used the brake on her bobsled too much; the rest of us never used the brake much if at all.

No:-(. And although the Wave phones are supposed to work on Castaway Cay, several families found that not to be the case. So don't make that your sole plan for meeting up, say, after your spouse runs the 5K!

We sailed the week before you and your post made me laugh. Our DS ran the 5K and we had hoped to be able to use the Wave phones to text each other on CC. The text feature did not work, but DS was able to reach us by calling our Wave phone from the stateroom phone when he went back to the stateroom to shower. That call came through fine to us on CC. Don't know if it will work for everyone, but just an FYI for anyone wondering.

What did you think about the renovations on the Magic?

This was our first Disney cruise, so I don't have first-hand experience to compare it to, but I was really impressed with the areas I know have been renovated. The new slides are a lot of fun, and I thought Cariocas was just wonderful, especially after having read so many dismal reviews of the old Parrot Cay! I know the buffet area was also renovated, and the flow of traffic seemed fine and we never had to really search for a table.

Do you know if there was a tequila/margarita tasting?
Okay, pulled out my Navigators...other than the ones I already mentioned, there was a martini tasting at 3:30 on our Grand Cayman day and a beer tasting at 3:30 on our Castaway Cay day. BUT, neither of the tastings that we did are listed in the Navigators. So it's entirely possible that there was a tequila tasting that also didn't make it in. Sorry I can't be more help!

Sidenote, we did a tequila tasting at Casa Mission as part of our private jeep tour in Cozumel that was great. I am not really a tequila drinker, but these were very smooth!

Thank you. We have done the tequila/margarita tasting on the Fantasy twice and really liked it. I still keep meaning to pick up some of the Patron coffee tequila. It was yummy!!
