Just wanted to give a mini-review. I want to do a bigger one but I don't have time to do pictures etc. right now as I have a school year to finish.
The trip was me, DH , and our 17 year old son (to celebrate his graduation in May...he will be 18 in June).
Embarkation was easy...we stayed at the Hyatt and took the first bus to the port. The buffet at Cabanas was very nice.
Dinner every evening had something to choose from. I liked the Pirate menu best. We ate lunch at Cabanas on Nassau day and Palo on the sea day. We also had one breakfast at Cabanas.
My son LOVED Vibe. He was there most of the time. He did eat dinner with us every night. Some drama developed as the cruise went on which he didn't like, but he would take a break with us for a few hours and go back. He had a big part in "Zombified", which is a movie they make. You can't buy it, but you can record it on your phone. Parents are invited to the premiere on the last night of the sailing.
We got off and walked to the Pirate Museum in Nassau. It was more of an attraction, but my son enjoyed it. I forgot how pushy everyone is there. We got back on the ship, but since it was spring break it was still crowded for a port day. DS and I rode the aquaduck which is a lot of fun, but only once because we had to wait 45 minutes. I had seen dads staking out beach chairs at the family pool at 7AM.
As for Castaway Cay....we very fondly remembered it from our last cruise in 2004 and were very excited to finally go to Serenity Bay, as my son was with the teen group. But the weather turned sour. REALLY sour with thunder and lightning.. We got to Serenity Bay on the tram and they had closed the beach. We went back to the main area and my son texted (using the DCL app) and said I had to sign a form for the teen excursion and he was at Cookies. We got to Cookies as the monsoon hit. He was actually at Cookies Too, and I told him I wasn't moving until the storm stopped, but it was OK because the teen excursion was canceled due to thunder, lightning, strong winds, and driving rain. The trams were stopped for a while. We were getting wet even under the shelter because the rain was coming in sideways. After a while they tried to open Cookies for lunch but people had to run to get it. Eventually the CMs were bringing trays of food into the shelters, but so much food went to waste. When we finally left the trams had to go through calf deep water (some people were walking). CMs were handing out warm towels at the gangplank. The wind made it seem colder than it was. You know it's bad when the CMs are saying "this never happens".
I know, a stormy day at CC is better than a nice day at home, right? Later on it did clear up and DH and I went back at about 3:30 and at least put our feet in the ocean to say we did.
We are going on the Fantasy next March (just me and DH) so we will have to wait until then to do Serenity Bay!
Cruise director was Trent, Captain was Henry.

Sounds like a fun trip despite the rain. How nice to be met with warm towels at the gangplank--very thoughtful.

DH and I enjoy our adults only trips too...we try to be the first off to get to Serenity Bay-several times we've had it all to ourselves (ok, there were some Cast Members of course!) for 20 minutes. Utter, utter bliss!

Sounds like this could lead to a new club - the Serenity Bay club.

I'm not sure about the whole cruise staff but Jamesy was on there. He helped with the DVC member gathering.

I was more nervous than when they switched crew toilet paper from charmin to 2-ply.
I haven't been this upset since Zane left One Direction.
toodles y'all!

For those unfamiliar those are some of his signature quotes. Also, find him on facebook.

I can't say enough about the cast members on CC day. From the Cookies workers running food to a shelter food of wet passengers, to everyone keeping us informed about trams, etc., to the warm towels....they really took care of us. None of it was there fault, after all. And before the storm the girls in charge of the 5K were a lot of fun too.
