Just off the Disney Wonder Alaska 7-night. I’m not sure that I have time to file a full trip report, but wanted to see if I can be helpful to anyone. Just by way of background, we are Platinum Castaway Club members and have a 7- and 4-year olds. We sailed Concierge in Cabin 8100 (1-bedroom suite, not a great cabin, IMO). Let me know if you have any questions.

The cabin was underneath Cabanas, and food from the outside seating area was always falling on our deck. The barrier was also solid steel, which reduced visibility for our kids. The cabin did seem a bit larger than previous 1-bedrooms we’ve sailed in, which was an unexpected plus.

Yikes! Food falling onto the veranda would not be fun, especially considering the cost of concierge. Sorry to hear it. :sad2:

Other than that, did you love Alaska? It’s just beautiful, I think!

Oh NO! Food on your deck is gross.

Were they still giving the sling bag as the platinum castaway gift?

I'm leaving mine behind in November! :-)

Yes, we had a great time. Not sure that we will repeat it again soon, but it was definitely worth doing. We especially loved the helicopter and dogsled excursion in Juneau, I think it was a real highlight.

Who were the members of the Cruise Staff Team, including Club Host and DJ?

My husband and I were wondering about Alaska with kids that age (we have 7 and 4 too). We were on the inaugural Alaska Disney sailings and thought that the kids were too young for some of the excursions (float plane etc). Did both kids go on the excursions you mentioned?

We just got off the same cruise. Jo (Jo Slo!!!) was the club host, fabulous as always and it was DJ Alex spinning the tunes! Ashley is CD and it was Captain Henry at the helm.

We were on the same cruise, wasn't the weather amazing?!! We were on deck 8 as well (not in concierge this time), starboard and loved it.

Thank you. Do you remember who else was on the Cruise Staff Team running the family and adult activities?

Oh gosh.....um, Mitchie MooMoo for sure (love him!) And a couple others that I remember from previous cruises but their names I can't remember right now, sorry!

David from the UK did a lot of the family quizzes etc. There were also a couple of ladies...Ruth was one of them but can't remember the others

What a strange and surprising problem to have. That is not what I thought you were going to say about what you didn't like about the cabin.

Okay, weird question:
I live on the West Coast (Portland Oregon) so an Alaskan Cruise is actually the closest/most accessible for me, but they seem to all be 5-7 night cruises. As a person who has done a few cruises, to someone who has never been on a cruise, would you do a 5 or 7 night Alaskan as your first cruise? Is it too much or does Disney make it easier for a first timer, do you think?

I'd recommend it as a first cruise! Our first cruise ever was the 7 nt Alaskan cruise on the Disney Wonder. DH and I had never been interested in cruises, but did want to see Alaska someday and we are into all things Disney, so this made perfect sense to us! 7 nights was perfect as 3 of those days you're in ports exploring, most of 1 day is cruising to see a glacier (so a sightseeing day), and then the 2 days at sea to enjoy the activities on the boat. We loved our first cruise, didn't feel like it was too long. For a lot of the shorter cruises, I think it feels like you've just figured out where everything is on the ship and then it's time to pack and leave the ship!
