Just need to vent....
Sadly my dog, Bertie died last night.
He took ill just the day before and the vet rang us last night to say they had to open him immediately, and sadly he had cancer.
There was no warning, he wasn't ill until that day. He was 7 but a very bubbly happy dog, full of energy.
The house is so lonely today. It's not the same without him.
It's just 2 weeks to my wedding now, I can't believe we have another upset to deal with.

Thanks for listening,
Janine

Aww...Janine! I'm so sorry for your loss!

Losing our furkids is so devastating and with all the other stuff you have going on, I'm sure it's even more upsetting!

I'm sure Bertie knew how much he was loved. Take as much comfort as you can in knowing that you did what was best for him. He won't have any more pain or discomfort.

:grouphug:

I just lost one of my dogs recently to an accident...it was horrible. Now one of my other dogs is very old and will surely pass soon. It is heartwrenching when we lose our pets. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sending happy thoughts your way!

I am so sorry to hear that...losing a pet is like losing a person.

I'm sorry about your loss, Janine. I know how hard it can be. I hope your days are a little brighter in the next few weeks.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Try to take comfort in the fact that he was not ill, in pain, or suffering for a long time before passing away. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry Janine. I lost my 16 year old Golden Retriever back in June, so I know how it feels. Feel free to PM me anytime if you need to talk.

:(:( I'm so sorry--that really sucks and there's no two ways about that! Fortunately, you can keep yourself as busy as possible with the wedding to keep your mind off the event...it is so stressful:( Sending you some pixie dust to take away the sadness!!! :wizard:

I am so sorry :sad2: I'm sure it feels like even more to deal with on top of the stress of a wedding. Hang in there, big hugs :grouphug:

Hi Janine:
I am so sorry to hear you lost your little baby. Do you have any pictures of him so we can see how cute he was?
Its harder to lose your dog when you weren't expecting it. You should definitely go adopt another baby.
Not to replace him but to do something in his honor and give another little dog a happy life just like you did for little Bertie.
Thats what I would do...I know your other dog wouldn't be as lonely too.
Hope that helps
Gabrielle

Hi
Thankyou all for your kind words.
I know it will take's a while to re-adjust.
He literally followed me everywhere, and I often tripped over him as I turned around.
I work from home, and he often sat by feet as I worked.
It was so sudden, I feel like I have lost my right arm.
When we get his ashes back we will bury them next to the waterfall we're just creating in the garden as a reminder of him.
Thanks again everyone, it's nice to know someone's listening.
Janine

I am so sorry for your loss! :sad1: Losing a pet is just like losing a family member or close friend. I still keep a picture of my dog, Blondie, in a frame where I see it every day, and she passed 10 years ago.

Time does help you to be able to remember your pet with a smile on your face instead of a tear.

I am so sorry about your loss. Losing a beloved pet is so traumatic, no matter how it happens. I think your waterfall memorial is a wonderful idea and I hope that you can relax and enjoy this time leading up to your wedding.

Janine, I am so sorry for your loss. I know it must be tough on top of planning your wedding. I think your garden idea is wonderful.

Janie,
I'm so sorry to hear about the lost of your dog :sad2: and right before the wedding. It like loosing a family member. It's extremly hard, and I'm sure the wedding plans aren't making things any easier. Just think he is up in doggie heaven having the time of his life. He knows he is loved and missed. I would try my best to keep busy with the wedding and try not to think of this tragity.
