Just need to get this out (Female stuff... update pg14)

Yay!! That is great news! Atleast you can rest a bit better now that for the most part, you are doing great. It seems you have a great doctor taking care of you and I know that's a great relief.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday. I wanted to do a small update. I'm having my surgery on Thursday but what kind of surgery is anyone's guess.
My doctor is very determined to leave my ovaries if they are still healthy. The surgery is going to start as laparoscopic with the doctor removing the cysts and possible
tissue. He said he plans to "look around" then determine of further extensive surgery will be needed. Additionally he will be performing a d&c.

The doctor was really good with my husband Matt. He told Matt that he would be booking me for a 4 hour surgery block because he intends to take his time but shouldn't take that long.
He would send someone out at the 2 hour mark if he is going to take longer. My first worry is always about him. I know the feeling of alone and just waiting.

Overall health wise, I am just ready. I had another ultrasound recently and the cysts are growing more it seems. The big complex cysts are now around 10cm and still filling with blood and segmenting inside the cyst. The doctor said it looks like the cyst is developing "walls" inside it. I have no idea what all this means. I am becoming anemic over this and it's kicking my butt. The doctor said he expects me to be somewhere around 15lbs lighter or so after all this is done. I wonder if he was joking...

Part of my pre-op was to go meet the oncologist and fill out all necessary medical paperwork ahead of time for the"just in case" so everything can be expedited quickly if need be. I think I have everything done and I'm ready as I can be. Maybe by this time next week, I won't be so thick and lumpy!

Thank you all again for the well wishes and thoughts and message. They were all so very much appreciated.

Best of luck for a successful surgery and swift recovery! :grouphug:

I am so glad you get to finally have the surgery and really be on the road to being better by Thursday.

it is great that the doctor is booking a nice, long block and going to have time to calmly deal with any extra he finds once inside, but can leave as much there as is reasonable. And YAY that he is considerate of poor Matt sitting and worrying--is there someone who can wait with him that day?

Honestly, as horrible as those cysts sound, growing so fast is a good sign as far as nothing being too scary (I think). and I bet you will feel so much better once they are out and you recover.

I'll be sending you every good vibe I can all day on Thursday--and I bet so will half the DIS.

It sounds like you're in good hands. Sending continued thoughts and prayers for good results. :grouphug:

I've been thinking of you Tina, and still sending prayers and hopes that all goes well with your surgery. Update us when you are feeling better afterwards- we care about you!

You have such a great attitude about all of this. I hope and pray it goes really well for you and your recovery is easy on you. Maybe your DH can update us or contact someone on here to update us on how you are doing. There will be lots of prayers for you.

Was just wondering about you yesterday. Best of wishes to you that all goes very well and you are feeling great in no time.

Went to dinner with DH's cousin a week and a half ago. When making the arrangements she mentioned that she was off work because she'd had a hysterectomy unexpectedly. When we got together I found out a little more and discovered she did not in fact have a hysterectomy, but had a laparoscopic procedure that led to one of her ovaries being removed. Her issues described were very similar to yours. She's contacted me since we had dinner to let me know that her doc got more reports back from the lab and all is well. She was feeling physically a bit better every day as she was healing from the procedure, but now that she's gotten such good news from the doc she says she feels absolutely fine.

I tell you the story to offer you some reassurance about someone in similar shoes -- and in the hopes that we're all reading very soon that you are feeling like a million bucks!

Thank you all for your thoughts and stories! The doctor did tell me that everything he takes out will be sent to pathology for testing as well. At least I'll be drugged out for a few days
and can't sit and worry about the test :-)

Glad to hear they were able to get you in this week, and that you are comfortable with how things are being set up. Thanks for taking the time to update us, and best of luck for a speedy recovery!! We'll all be thinking about you!!

You are going to feel SO much better when this is over - both physically and mentally.
This doctor sounds really good, that's a huge help imho. And the fact that Matt is comfortable with him is another point in his favor. I think you're in great hands.

Best of luck, will send a prayer up for you

I haven't posted on your thread before but I have been following what is going on with your situation. Praying you have a successful surgery with the best possible outcome.

BTW, I'm also a military wife (DH is retired now) - thanks for all you do in supporting your hubby!
