I just called and booked The Silver Spur for 5.30 on 28/10 and Walts for 5.30 on 30/10. I thought I read here in a thread about Halloween that Walts was closed for dinner that week but the CM was able to take my booking for Thursday although Walts does close at 4pm on the Tuesday.
We are also eating at Annettes and Inventions this trip so a mixture of favourites and new experiences.
Which room at Walts would you recommend?

Great choices Rosie :goodvibes

Both times we've eaten at Walt's we've been seated in Frontierland because we've asked for a window seat to watch the parade.

Next time I fancy sitting in Adventureland or Fantasyland.

Love your choices too! We might try Silver Spur on our final day.

Oh my I'm getting SO excited!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I sat in Main Street at Walts and I really liked it, great views and it felt really cosy and relaxing as its really small. Also the photos on the wall are great.

Had a look in discovery and frontierland though and they look great!! Adventureland looks funky too.

I bet they're all great.

Hi just wondering how do you know when/where the parades are so you book for the right times & places.

Thanks
Lauren

I would fancy to eat in Walt's too but it sounds a bit too expensive for our pockets :( so i will just have a look at you as you dine :rotfl2:

The day-time parade doesn't change its times very much. It's usually at 4pm except for the few weeks of summer season when it's around 7pm. You can check times on the official site here although unfortunately they are a bit slow at updating it.

We made a reservation for three-quarters of an hour before the parade and when we checked in we requested a window seat and as it was quiet we were lucky. :)

Hello all. I am travelling for the first time on my own with 3 children [ages 3, 6, 8] for halloween. I am quite anxious actually now. We are staying at NewPort bay which i now realise - too late - is enormous and I cannot seem to upgrade to Admirals Floor which might have been quieter.

Anyway -what restaurants should I book for me and children. Would you recommend I book around time of parade. ANY advice is very welcome.

Should I bring a buggy for my little boy or could I just hire one there for the 3 full days [would be one less piece of luggage for me to drag with kids].

Gosh and finally I hope it won't be too scary for the 3 year old. In a shop recently and he saw a ghost made from a sheet and cowered behind me - what have I let myself in for??!!

Anyway - any help I would love. Thanks v much. Cecilia

Can't help with meal advice but I would say take your own buggy with you. The ones to hire are not comfortable, don't recline and have no rain cover. We have taken a cheap Maclaren with us and it was great. I know it's extra stuff to drag around but I would rather push a tired 3 year old than carry one! I'm a mum of 3 too. lol:goodvibes

A lot of people with little children like Cafe Mickey - there are lots of threads here about it. Also Casey's Corner and well everywhere really as DLRP is for everyone.

I've never used a buggy as my two were past that stage when we first visited but lots of people here have small children and will help.

I hope your little one doesn't get too scared - I'm sure there will be lots of non scarey stuff for him.

Hi Cecilia
you have come to the right place for some help on planning your trip :thumbsup2 !
I booked a trip "for the children" a few years ago and oh dear I seem to still be in planning mode ;) .
I hope you get some good answers and don't be too anxious as I'm sure you'll have a great time. Maybe if you don't get many replies you could start a new thread?

I'd also recommend Cafe Mickey ~ there are characters there at breakfast, lunch and dinner although I prefer lunch or dinner over breakfast, I think they're better value.

Have a look at DLPfoodguide it will give you an idea of the menus and prices.

There are also reviews of the restaurants linked in the Restaurant FAQ sticky. If you have any questions just start a new thread, we'll be only too happy to help.

Halloween at DLRP has the accent on fun-scary rather than scary-scary IYKWIM but if he is afraid the Halloween decorations are predominantly in Frontierland with a few in Main Street. There aren't any in Fantasyland, Adventureland or Discoveryland.

Thank you everyone for your advice - I am taking all of it.

I appreciate it and by the way I am so sorry for hijacking a thread. I never knew you could start your very own so I have done that too!

I am sure it will work out fine...
