You guys said there wasn't going to be a Louisiana booth at F&W this year, but it's listed on the website.

And... there's some darned good food to be found in Newark! Well, as long as you stay in the Ironbound area. Then again, would that be a Newark booth, or a Portugal one?

I can just see it now... shrimp in garlic sauce, rodizio style meats & pasteis de nata as a sweet. Drinks could be port & vinho verde.

The show was recorded about a day before the Food & Wine booth info was released. They heard a rumor that the Louisiana booth would be gone, but thankfully it isn't! I adore southern cooking and so can't wait for it! :)

As for good food in Newark, ummm...hmmm. Well, the only good place I know of is a Portuguese restaurant, Forno's. Good stuffed lobster there, that's for sure! :)

Agreed... Can't think of ANYTHING memorable from New Jersey, except maybe the Deep Fried Hotdogs. Doesn't touch a Chicago dog, but tasty.

What? no love for The Spanish Tavern? Don Pepe's, Iberia's and a about 15 others? :yay:

Never said NJ, but Newark specifically. Fried Oreos, boardwalk fries and pizza, etc. are all great food items from here.

I have never been to Don Pepes or Iberia so I couldn't comment on those. I am a big fan of Brennen's in Neptune City and Carlos O'Connors in Red Bank though. Can't beat these places!

Louisiana is not going to have the big feature area it had last year. It will just be a booth in front of the American Pavilion.

lol - I said you had to stay in the Ironbound District of Newark. Iberia, Iberian Peninsula, Fornos, Seabras.... all the Portuguese places are pretty good. =)

Yes it would be great to see New Jersey talked about in a way other then the Mob, Newark and the Intercitys. Now if Cape May had a booth I would go.

As long as they still have the same yummy stuff they had last year; and those little bottles of tabasco. :woohoo:

if theyre doin a jersey shore booth then they need that guy who makes the cheesesteaks on the boardwalk in seaside....you know the one where you can actually feel your heart beating slower as u eat it..and then for dessert, its gotta be a funnel cake...im just sayin
