Our first family trip to WDW was for our son's 4th birthday he is nearly 17 (daughter 13) and we have done a Disney Trip (DLR/Cruise or WDW) every year since then. The amount of times we have talked about buying DVC cannot be counted and last Sunday the conversation started again....and today we are officially DVC Members at BLT. My head is spinning I am so excited. We started out resale and even had a contract in mind with 7 days to think about. Based on another thread with someone mentioning the great deal they got from the Door Way of Dreams in Schaumburg we called just to check it out. It was a great deal and we didn't have to wait a couple of months for everything to be finalized. Already have my memeber number and banked my 2009 points. Although I think re-sale is an excellent option this just worked out better for us and was relatively the same cost. Especially considering the Disney Dollars earned by using my Disney Visa (which will be paid off at the end of the 6 month grace period). I have been reading and researching and asking questions since Sunday and everyone has been so helpful. I just wanted to share the good news and say thanks for all the help!

Welcome we did the same thing started going to Disney every year when I was pregnant for my 3rd child she is now 15 and we just bought in Feb. I am still excited about the purchase and have planned 2 trips I normally would not have taken with 2009 points! I went with 2 girlfriends OKW in May and going in mid Dec with DH and our BFF's for 5 nights!
I think BLT convinced me because that is the location we love. Word of caution........
ADDONITIS! It can strike at any time already has for us but went resale SSR this time!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome! We are thrilled to be part of the family and know we will love every minute of it. I can see where the addonitis could be scary, after we take our "first" trip I am sure it will kick into high gear. I would love to get the BLT graphic, will have to figure out how to do that. Looking foward to all the new great Disney Memories
