Just joined the DVC did not know Canadians could

Hi all this maybe old news. But I was not aware that if you live in Ontario you can get the financing direct from Disney. When we asked 8 years ago. We were told we would have to get a mortgage or line of credit from our own bank in Canada. So we never tried again. DH said why not ask maybe the rules have changed. Found out we always could have gone through Disney because we live in Ontario. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

When we asked the rep they where not sure. And had to make a phone call. So if you are talking to a normal rep make sure they really know what they are talking about.

If anyone from Ontario wants more info just PM I will get you a name to call. I get nothing for this but the knowledge that maybe someone else was told the same thing and really wants to join just like us

I think it is a great investment and when we are to old grrrr to enjoy it I know our Son will always be able to go on vacation.

Congratulations!! That must be so exciting. Maybe one day!! I remember talking to a DVC guy at WDW and he said Ontario is the only province they can send mailings to. We are the cosen ones!!!

We bought into DVC this year too (although we bought a BWV resale). Before we decided on the resale we did look at buying through Disney. After investigating everything we decided that Disney's financing wasn't for us because the interest was three or four points higher than what we can get on our secured line of credit. What is attractive about buying through Disney is that you can put it all on a credit card to get the points and pay it off with your line of credit.

I am looking at buying a DVC but because i am in Calgary, i can't! I have to be down in Disney or get it through a reseller. From what the person told me Disney has a prescense in Ont and that is why they can only deal with people from Ont.

I requested some information to be shipped to me and because i was not in that province they couldn't do it. So i had to have it shipped to a family member first who forward it off to me.

But it is something i want to get and do

We bought from home through resale then added points right away from disney and finaced them and it was so easy to do it from home. The haredest thing was getting the finance papers signed by a notary but even that was not to hard. We just have to wait to do it again.
