We had a Costco membership a few years back and had considered renewing but hadn't yet. Well, I went in today with a friend and they offerred me a $10 gift card and her a bonus of 2 free months of membership so I figured why not.
I didn't buy much today, but the things I found that I could really save on were hamburger for $1.99 lb when in the grocery store here it is $3lb, Milk for about 80 cents less than I have been paying per gallon, cheese for $3 lb and butter, 4 lbs for $7.50 (approx)
So what do you find really saves you money to purchase at Costco rather than say Target or the grocery store?

) and bread too!
Girls swimming suits (speedo brand) are usually $11 or so at this time of year. If your family likes JellyBelly jelly beans - they have 'em branded as Kirkland. Fruit snacks...some cereal as was mentioned. Juice boxes if you need them for field trip type things.

I stopped going because I couldn't stand the crowds, but since I am now a SAHM {work 2 days a week outside the home}, I think I'll check it our on a weekday...
