On our next trip to the Contemporary we plan on renting a refrigerator. How big/small are they? Will it hold a gallon size bottle of milk or should we get half gallon sizes (or quarts) or what? We also need room for some fruit, cheese and hubby’s medication.

Am I asking too much out of a hotel ‘fridge?
:D

they aren't to big. I just get bottles of soda and water so I couldn't tell you if it will fit a gallon of milk. I just had one this June in the Poly but I can't emeber the actual size, hopefully someone else can help.:D

They are very small but big enough for the essentials. If you are familiar with the ones that college kids rent when they stay in dorms....it's that size. I would stick with the half gallon size of milk and a few other necessities.

We drive to Disney now and invested in one of those soft sided coolers. Yes, it's a pain to fill up with ice twice a day but it's paid for itself over and over again. If you are staying 3-4 days, you may want to consider this. You can buy one at Walmart/Target, etc upon your arrival and then when you fly home you'll have an extra bag to put all your souverniers into. (Just a thought!)

Good luck and have a great time!

One of our local grocery chains, biggs, has huge ones on sale for only $7.99. I am not sure of the quality or how long they will keep things cold, though.

We are flying down this time (first time) and making a grocery stop on the way to the hotel. I have also entertained the thought of purchasing one of those styro-foam cooler thingys at the grocery stop. The way my luck runs, they would be out when I got there!

If you are driving it may be worthwhile to invest in an electric cooler. We were going to request a refrigerator but found that for our nine nights it would be cheaper to purchase an electric cooler. They work via auto cigarette lighter AND standard home electric outlet. They both heat or cool. Thus, we can have it in the car for the drive down and then just plug it in when we get there. For those who are driving it is an option. I will try to link to the one we were looking at.

I bought a dorm fridge, they are on sell at target this week for $66.00 I think. It will pay for itself in one trip!
