Just how wet is Grizzly River Run?

Soaked! Soaked I tell ya! Funny thing was one in our party came out just "damp" while the rest of us ... well, see for yourselves...

Can't really tell from this picture but the shoes are filled with water and the jersey is SOAKED!

The one that just got "damp" was at the doorway, go figure.
The damp one was the one taking the pictures.

No matter where you sit on GRR you will get wet. LOL Yes the entryway seats are worse. I always manage to be on the raft that gets soaked. But honestly I think it is fun to get wet! :rotfl: Definately dont miss it! And dont get a poncho or that ruins half the fun! :thumbsup2

Not really on topic - but - does anyone else love going on GRR after it gets dark? It does have the downside of everyone in your party being wet & cold for the rest of the night (and it has actually made us cut our nights short due to being cold) but I think the advantages far outweigh the bad. Almost no line is the best, plus you typially get your own raft in the last 15 minutes or so - and darkness and mist straying being a new, creepy atmosphere to the ride that you just don't get during the day.

GRR is one great reason my family has stayed at GC. You ride it and get drenched, and all you have is a short walk back to your room to change real quick ;) We've come off completely dry, but other times uncomfortably wet....and we still can't wait to ride it again :thumbsup2

Us too. Last Dec my DH and DD10 closed DCA down riding GRR over, and over, and over, and over. The CM's finally turned the water levels up and drenched them to get them to GO HOME. DH said it was a lot more fun of a ride with higher water levels. Not that it isn't fun anyway...it is one of the main reasons we stay at GCH. We must like it.

Yes, we love going on when it's dark too, except for the lack of sun to dry you off afterwards....BRRRR. But, it's worth going on at night just for the experience.
The dark misty atmosphere makes it great! :)
