Just HOW important is the Fantasmic package?

We are contemplating cancelling our Fantasmic package for our trip. reason being we arent thrilled with the two restaurants and can save a TS for a place we really want to eat on another day....we are in the parks for 5 days but only staying 4 nights. We have never used this package before and have seen the show fine....we actually led the group in on our honeymoon--have the special certificate and pics to prove it :). Please enlighten me. How early would we have to wait in line to get in and pick a good seat?

Anyone else NOT try and get this package.....

We have done it both ways. It all depends on when your going, how busy it is, and how many times fantasmic is showing. Becuase they don't show it every night it tends to get a bit more crazy when waiting for it. When we used to go w/out the package we would head up about 75 min before show time. Now having 3 kids that isn't an option for us. No way would our girls sit for that long. So now we go w/ the Fantasmic package ( love MM though) and arrive 30 min before show time. Works out good for us. Hope this helps.
I guess it all depends on if you can sit and wait then go w/out the package and use your TS for something else. If Not then get the package.

We have done both, but if the parks are not crowded, you really don't need it. We tend to use it when we go around spring break. We were there last November (week before Thanksgiving) and got good seats about 30-45 minutes before the show without the package.

I love the package and would not go to the show unless I was using the package. I mostly vacation during spring break mid March, early summer or week after Christmas

And the lines waiting to get in started sometimes 120-90 minutes :scared1:before show time. That's crazy waiting time when I could be enjoying my dinner or going on more rides. So we love it....30 minutes walk prior to show, seperate entrance and no cattle herds rushing for seats! Now the seats are not center stage but still great location off to the sides and you can get front row close to the water or as far back away from the water sprays!

Plus, we figured one TS meal for us each day so that is eat at HS day....added bonus with the show package. And like other poster stated if they only offer Fantasmic on certain nights and not daily, that means very crowded....people will even park hop over to see the show.

Best wishes on whatever you decide to do.

I've done it both ways, most recently with the package and I don't think I'll ever do Fantasmic again unless I have the package. It was nice arriving at our own gate and having our own section with plenty of seating when we got there. With 30 minutes before show time, the place was packed.

We went Jersey week of '08. Fantasmic was only being shown 2X that week. The line 1 hour before show time was from the ampitheater down the street to the Villians in Vogue guest shop. NO way would I have stood in that line, I felt so bad for the people waiting with little kids.
Luckily we have been before, we're due back at the world the last week in August 2011 and I'll do the package.

We were there at a slow time (just last week) and it was still ridiculous to get into the early Fantasmic (they were also doing a later show, and it was on a Sunday night. The only other night during our stay was Thursday, and we had MNSSHP that night.) Arriving to the line about 45-60 min before showtime (I don't remember, as the party was split and I don't know precisely how early the others arrived) resulted in standing room only! Takes forever to get everyone in there. So I'd say, if you must see Fantasmic, then yeah, anything that gets you a priority seat or whatever is worth it.

For me personally, Fantasmic isn't interesting enough for me to even bother seeing again, even if I got an easy seat. Y'all can enjoy it; I'll go do something else thank you very much. :)

The Fantasmic package really isnt that important. The only thing I like about it is that if your on the dining plan and using it, you get an APPETIZER too lol. We did Fantasmic package on our last trip 2 weeks ago for Mama Melrose tho, got our VIP seating tickets for the 8pm show, but was disappointed when we arrived at the entry gate and we were told to go find seats and that the place is full? So dont really see the point in it since we didnt get any special treatment at the show at all and had pretty crappy seats. You just gotta get there early

We did the package once a couple years ago in January (but I think that was when they were doing the show every night), enjoyed the dinner at the Brown Derby. However, we had to be at the show 30 minutes ahead of time even with the package - because it was in January, we could have had just as good of seats by showing up without the package about 20 minutes before the show started - so it wasn't worth it. But if it's during a busy day or season or there are limited shows - get the package.

We travel thanksgiving week, and have never done it without the package so I don't know what standing in that line for 2 hours is really like, but it didn't look like any fun. When we arrive, usually about 45- and hour before the show, the line is already moving in, and it takes untill about 20-30 min before show time for everyone standing in line to get in. At that point there are no seats left.

Couple of years ago we did MM on the dining plan with the Fantasmic package. Wouldn't of had to as it wasn't that crowded. But glad we did because it ended up being our favorite meal - which we probably wouldn't have eaten there if it weren't for the package.

I just got back from 11 nights at WDW and on Sept 19th at 9.27pm we entered DHS to watched the 930 fantasmic not only did we get in no problem we were seated in better seats than the fantasmic package.
We ended up cancelling our fantasmic package for the 26th and got to eat at somewhere more enticing!
