to watch a game of football. We have had to cut short our weeks holiday in Majorca and flew home yesterday instead of tonight so my DH could go see his beloved WBA play at Wembley today. It's no big deal I suppose as we were only in a friends villa and stuff but just how much it's cost to change the flights he won't tell me ..... probably because when I do find out I've said I'm spending the equvalent amount on shoes ahhh football widowhood don't you just love it

Not that far anymore - tho' back in the day when Villa were Euro champions, maybe. We do have an unspoken agreement that we won't be on holiday for the start of the season in August every year - we were in WDW last year so got to be home this year. Mind you, it's not just DH as both my DSs are Villa supporters too...

When we were on holiday in Barbados earlier this year, he discovered Villa were on TV (oddly enough they weren't at home) and went to a nearby sports bar to watch the game for a couple of hours. Didn't mind that as I lay on the beach, had a couple of cocktails and read my book...

I'd like to think I wouldn't have to do that Lisa, but I sometimes wonder !!

I remember sitting in a bar in Portugal a couple of years ago, sipping cocktails, while DH and DS were glued to a football match. (I can't even remember what the occasion was now ..... but more than likely England playing someone !)

I'm a bit of a golf widow but don't mind - gives me peace to DIS !!

Nooooo! I absolutely hate football. I may check the scores on teletext later this afternoon just to see what mood he'll be coming home in. He left really early this morning to pick up his football buddies leaving me with all the holiday washing and ironing as usual

My Ex, a devote West Brom fan would have tried that as well and to be honest got away with it as he is so passionate about West Brom, the only difference is I would have been with him as I support them as well and remember going to see West Brom play Port Vale at Wembley a few years back when West Brom won. My ex has gone again this year but I will listen to it on the radio, for some reason he did'nt want to take me, cant think why

We may book events around something Gavin wants to do but I wouldnt change a holiday nor would Gavin ask me to.

He loves Formula 1 but has missed many races because of holiday, if possible we will try to book so he only misses one race but if other factors such as school holidays come into play then the cheapest flights win every time!

Don't mind Tom watching football plus he plays golf at least twice a week. When he watches footie I can watch what I like. When he plays golf I go shopping. Works out rather well
