Just how easy is it to eat off site from the Dolphin?

One of the reasons we are spending a little bit more on a rental vs shuttles/towncars is that we might be able to save a few more $$ eating offsite.

Is it pretty easy to leave the SwanDolphin and travel to nearby restaurants that are offsite?

It's really not a problem. To get to the Crossroads shopping center (several chain restaurants) and 535, you need to go through the Downtown Disney area which has several stop lights, but if you stay in the right lane (and left on the way back) it's only a short delay. For 192 and International Drive, getting off property is the easy part.
