Just how big is the big blue pool?

According to the latest PR release, Big Blue is the biggest.

I read it was like 10 feet bigger. I would think SAB had more total square feet from the entire area, but probabaly water square footage isn't as big there.

A quick internet search reveals that SAB is 35,000 square feet and 750,000 gallons

I wonder if that is the square footage of the water area or the whole water/beach/pool surround area.

From Jack Spence at All Ears

Active Lagoon: 13,300 sq. ft. and 500,000 gallons
Snorkel Lagoon: 6,500 sq. ft. and 200,000 gallons
Quiet Lagoon: 2,000 sq. ft. and 50,000 gallons

So actually 20,000 sq ft (probably 35,000 sq ft with pool decks) but still considerably bigger than Big Blue.

It's an interesting question. I think I may have found where Disney is making a distinction, though. Big Blue is a pool (of course). But in Disney's description of SAB on its website, it is described as a water park and a complex of pools. Plural. Would that explain the apparent discrepancy?

I think the issue is that Big Blue is all connected, where as SAB you technically have to get out of one pool and get into another, therefore it isn't the largest "pool" on property.

I agree that it's semantics, but technically it is the largest "pool" whereas SAB is more of a pool complex.

Big Blue is one pool. SAB is multiple pools. So Disney can actually claim that Big Blue is the largest pool on property.
