Just how BIG are character autographs?

Instead of taking (or making in advance) a traditional autograph book, I'm cutting plain white cardstock and taking a small clipboard ... for collecting character autographs.

But, I'm not sure what size to cut the cardstock. I don't want giant 8-1/2x11 autographs, but I want to leave enough room for some character creativity, if possible. Is 5x7" OK? 4x6"?

What size should I trim the cardstock to?

DD got an autograph book in the park & the characters pretty much filled each page. The pages in the book are about 4.25 x 5.75 give or take. I'd go with 4x6 cards myself.

I would do 5x7. That leaves some room for them to draw something if they want or right a message. If there is room, I would put the child's name on the clipboard so it is visible to the character. Sometimes they like to personalize the message.

I bought a spiral acid free book at walmart so I could get autographs. Then at home I just take them out and trim down the excess white. Then they go on the two page layout. DD with character on one page and autograph on the other page.

I did 4.5 x 6.5 for my book last year. I figured I can trip the extra .5 inches off and use reg 4x6 format as long as the charector doesn't right all the way to the edges.

I used 4x6 cardstock and carried a small plastic case photo holder/binder (bought at Michaels) to store them in -- that way they didn't get all mucked up in travel. Worked great!

Have a great time!!
