We just arrived home last evening from four days at WDW and the Swan. We stayed in newly renovated rooms. Any questions?? There were a few problems, which management took care of and a few things I was surprised about.

Details...details! We want the details!

How did you like your newly renovated room?

What kind of view did you have and what floor did you stay on?

What problems did you have and what things surprised you? We may try the Swan on our next visit next year.

This was our first experience at the Swan. It was a surprise birthday trip for my daughter, who was not told of the trip until the night before, so I wanted everything to be perfect. We requested two, connecting rooms and asked for an early check-in, if possible, and needed each room to have two beds. We upgraded our reservations to deluxe rooms. This trip has been planned and reservations made over six months ago. I know that requests depend on availability, but I thought six months was a decent time for the possibilities. We checked in at noon and were told that the rooms had only been vacated at 11:00am so they weren't ready. Okay, off to the park....back at 3:45pm....rooms not ready....come back in half an hour. Did I mention that we were all dressed in jeans and sweaters because we left in 30 degree weather? Checkin is at 3:00pm and they were vacated at 11:00am....what's the holdup? Oh, No!! I don't know who told you that, these rooms have never been occupied. You'll be in a newly renovated set of rooms and they have not passed inspection yet. At 5:00pm or so they took us to the rooms.....one had a king size bed. There are seven adults, in jeans and sweaters, not happy. It took another hour and a half before they decided there were no more rooms available. We ended up in these two rooms. The king room had a pull out sofa, the ones with the bar across the middle of your back.....not comfortable. By the way, the new heavenly beds are just that.....heavenly! Overfilled down pillows and comforters, very nice. The air conditioning willl only go to 66 dgrees and shuts down immediately upon opening the patio door. It must be closed securely for the unit to run. There is no fan or air duct in the bathroom so those got quite steamy with seven people taking showers and drying hair. The view was magnificent from the fifth floor. Management compansated us bu comping one room and transportation to the airport when we checked out. The hotel is lovely, I'm sure our experience was just a run of bad luck but it was important to my husband and me that this be a special birthday rememberance for our daughter. We always stay at PO Riverside and will be back there soon. The proximity to MGM and Epcot made the Swan seem ideal. I was sorry that so much went wrong.
