Just Home from POP

Can you confirm that there are hairdryers in the rooms?

Glad you had a nice trip and thanks for the info.

What section did you stay in? Can you recall you room number? We are staying a Pop Nov 27th- Dec 4th with two kids so we want to be as close as possible to the food court and busses.
Thanks :teeth:

I'm sorry, I don't remember the room number. I've just recently started taking pictures of the Room #'s whenever we go so I'll have a reference. :) The building we were in was next to the food court off to the side of the baggage area. It faces the drive up area/parking lot. My sister also stayed in the 50's section also but they were on the back side closer to the lake and were farther away from the food court. We always request the 50's and usually that's were we end up. We've stayed at several other Disney resorts (deluxe, moderate and all-stars) and since Pop opened thats were we try to stay. You can't beat the price and I love the bus service - by far the best I've encountered at Disney.

We too just got back from POP (7/4 - 7/13) and were impressed with it. We were in the 50's building, Room 1272 and faced the pool.

While trying to fall asleep, we could here people in the pool, but not enough to keep us from dozing off. As for the sound of toilets flushing, yes, we could hear a little of that, but nothing serious. I've been in more expensive hotels and could hear others.

I read complaints about the rooms not being cool enough. We never had that issue. We kept the thermostat at 68 and the rooms was plenty cold.

Mousekeeping did a great job. The Icee machine was working. The mugs was a good deal. The food wasn't too bad, but they need a bigger selection...at least change it a few times during the week.

The bus service, I thought, was good. We never waited longer than 15 minutes coming to going.

Overall, we were very happy and wouldn't hesitate to stay at POP again!

Does the POP share buses with the other resorts? Do they have hair dryers.

We stayed in an end room on the far side of the juke box in 50s on the 4th floor about as far as you can get in that section from everything as you can get. Very quiet, close to the parking lot (we rented a car), not so bad a walk to the food court, and the bowling ball pool was in our section, so not bad if you can get past the door opening into the bed.

We just came home from Pop, too! We had a wonderful stay. We were in the 50's section (Tramp Building) -facing the lake. It was very quiet. You can hear running water and doors closing now and then. I was glad we were not poolside. Our pool (bowling pin) did have quite a bit of noise from 10pm - 12:00. Our room was on the 4th floor and we had a great view of the fireworks, too! I did not think we were far from the food court at all. Mousekeeping was great, too! Many little towel animals. I want to go back!

Pop does not share buses with any other resort. Transportation was good. If you go to Typhoon Lagoon you will stop in Downtown Disney first. The longest bus rides seemed to be to Typhoon Lagoon and Magic Kingdom.

Hair dryers...yes! I used it every day. Lo-med-Hi settings.

Is the 50s or the 60s section closer to Epcot??
Thanks

We were at POP 6/18-6/25 in the 60's room 4438 we could walk out our door and see epcot (the ball/mission space i think). At nite you could see the lights from Downtown Disney.

It is my understanding that the rooms have hair dryers. I read this in another thread.

We're just back and were in the same area - tho we were on the 3rd floor (I didn't check for the fireworks darn it). We had a great experience - the Tramp building was close to the main building, the bowling pin pool is not quite as busy as the Hippy Dippy pool, and Mousekeeping rocked...stuffies were arranged each day, and we got 3 sets of towel animals (a boat with three birds in it, a nest with 2 birds, a toothbrush bunny and a soap bunny). There are blow dryers, and an iron and ironing board. The buses were working really well, I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes, and usually we were pretty lucky and just walked on.

When we went to DTD we stopped at Typhoon Lagoon first.

and the AK bus stops at Blizzard Beach (but since we were there just before Hurricane Daniel there weren't a lot of water park takers)

The 50's section is the furthest north, so they are closest to Epcot.

I DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD RESERVE A ROOM AHEAD OF TIME.
GOOD TO KNOW SINCE ME AND DD ARE LEAVING IN A MONTH.

I was there in May. I had requested 50s or 70s buildings top floor facing the lake. I got third floor 50's Building 1 (Lady's Building) on the corner right next to one of the bowling pin stairwells. I was as close as I could possibly be to Classic Hall (unless I had gotten a room on the first floor), but on the opposite end from the lake. I was really glad I did not get what I requested. I was closer than the people in the 60's Preferred building. At first I thought it might be a noisy location being so close to Classic Hall, but I never heard a sound. I guess because people with kids had strollers and so had to go all the way down to the elevators I never heard anyone even walk past my room. Being on a corner I only had a room to the left of me and that lady was also traveling solo, so was very quiet. I could stand right outside my room and see both the 50's bowling pin pool and the 60's Hippy Dippy pool, but was far enough away that I never heard any pool noise. The room number was 1312, by the way. Oh! mousekeeping also left me three towel animals everyday I was there, even though it was obvious I was traveling solo. She had them in everyone's windows every night when we returned from the parks.

I stayed there two nights before checking into BWV for five nights, then was coming back to POP for two more nights, so the morning I checked out I went down and asked what the chances were of me getting in the same general location when I returned in five nights. The CM said she would see what she could do about blocking the room off for me. When I returned five days later I asked a different CM and told her what the first CM had said. She said 'I don't think she could do that', but when she checked, she laughed and said 'I guess she could, you're in the exact same room'. To get from the buses the easiest way from my room was to just run down the stairs, go around where the DME check-in is, then walk across the front of the resort to the buses. I was maybe 2 minutes at the most from Classic Hall.

I'm going back to POP in Sept and requested either the 50's or 70's top floor. Some of the 70's are just as close as the 50's and 60's, but will be closer to the buses.
