I returned home this afternoon from 6 wonderful nights at BWV. Overall, the stay was wonderful, although there were a few bumps in the road along the way. Here's a quick recap:

After a 45 minute flight delay due to weather, we arrive at MCO at 10:45AM. We pick up luggage, rent a car though National (love, love, love EA), and arrive at the Boardwalk a little after 11:30AM. Imagine our surprise when the front desk CM gave us our packet and a card with our room number written on it. I was expecting to wait until 4PM or later for the room to be ready, so I was very happy to be able to get in to a room ASAP. We had a 1BR Boardwalk view room reserved, and we were assigned room 2003. It was in the Crest O'The Wave section, next to the last room on the second floor (2001 is the last room at the end of the hall). It was a long walk from the lobby, but it was very close to the staircase that leads out behind Jellyrolls. We were out on the Boardwalk in less than 60 seconds after departing our room, so definately no complaints. Plus, we spent 3 nights in Jellyrolls, so it was very convenient leaving there and heading 'home.' We had an amazing view, and if I can figure out how to post pictures, I will.

Now, on to the bumps. First off, I should explain that the cast of characters for this trip are me (26-year-old teacher) and my 50-something mother. I'm a morning person and my mom enjoys her sleep while on vacation, and this is the reason we booked a 1BR. Mom got the master bedroom, and I took the pull-out sofa in the living room (we had a new sofa, BTW, and it was very comfy). I noticed while unpacking that the clock on the DVD player in the living room was off. Not a major thing, but since I'm sleeping on the pull-out, I want to know what time it is if I wake up in the middle of the night. In order to see the clock on the stove or microwave in the kitchen, I literally had to stand up to see it. So, after fiddling with it for a while, I couldn't figure it out. Without going in to all the details of the story, we had made 4 requests for the clock to be set, and it never was. So, I finally asked for an extra alarm clock to be placed on the end table (in between the sofa and the wall), and I did get that. That worked out perfectly, and it turned out to be more convenient than having the DVD player fixed, as it was in an easier spot to see. So, while I did get the runaround about the clock, the problem was eventually solved, and I was very happy.

I did notice some other small problems with the room:
  1. The doorhandle on the balcony door off the living room was very loose
  2. The dryer took a very long time to dry clothes (I again called the front desk about this, and the CM that came up to fix it couldn't fix it)
  3. There were two dime-sized brown spots on the sink in the bathroom

Although the room was showing its age, it was still a great stay and I'm very happy that I bought at BWV. The split bathroom in the 1BR is a godsend, especially when traveling with two adult women. The location and view were perfect, and I really felt like I was home. Counting down the days until my next trip home!

We were in 4001 earlier in the month. Yes, it was a long walk, but the view more than made up for it. I'm glad you had a wonderful trip. I absolutely love the Boardwalk!

Thanks for the report. One month from tomorrow I'll be heading the the BWV, and I can't wait!

We were in room 5001......great room, awesome view. A couple of nights we had a Jellyrolls issue with fighting going on outside...nothing but yelling but you felt as though you were sitting right there. But all in all I would book that room again in a second, even with the 7 mile walk from the lobby.

Oddly enough, I only heard noise from Jellyrolls one night out of the six. Considering that we were one room away from JR, I was very happy with that.

Can't wait to be back 'home!'

Great report! They really did a nice job decorating BWV for Christmas, didn't they? Glad you had a wonderful stay. :)

Granny, I did love the BWV Christmas decorations. The tree in the courtyard seemed a bit small, but the lobby decorations were very nice. Looking forward to next year!

I love the BWV at Christmastime! The carousel in the lobby is adorable!

Glad you had a nice stay!...and the fact that you didn't hear much noise from JR considering your location is great news!

I've always found the dryers in stacked units TAKE FOREVER!

The unstacked ones at OKW, though, work great.

Good report, we where in 4005 in mid Dec great view.

jodifla, you are so right about the dryers! What upset me is that it kept shutting off on its own. It would only dry for 10 minutes or so at a time, then stop. I had to wait for the dryer to 'cool off' before starting it again. The end result was a lot of wrinkled clothes - grrr.

The view was amazing, and if I can ever figure out how to upload them, I'll post them here. Plus, being so close to the stairwell that comes out behind Jellyrolls was VERY convenient.

Stayed in 2001 a few years ago, only complaint was the small balcony. I'm a very light sleeper and only heard minor noise when JR closed. Glad to hear you had a good stay.
