Just heard my first cicada!!

I am assuming that even though I didn't see the "swarm" of those things that these bugs that are outside today, singing nonstop, are those cicadas. Normally, I don't hear "locust" (at least that is what we call them!! ) til sometime in July....on those really hot days. Even though I only saw one or two of those cicada bugs, something came through my garden one night. One day I had beautful rose bushes....literally, the next morning, I have bare sticks!!! They must of thought my house was a "drive through"!! Heck, they even ate my weeds!!

Sure it wasn't a chain saw?

I haven't heard any yet, but I did hear a saw this morning, LOL. My neighbor is putting an addition on!

Yup..............not a chain saw!! I know the sound of those things anywhere!!

I have seen lightening bugs already...seems a little early for those!

There was a news report here in england last night that a swarm of caterpillars had eaten an entire woodland!!! they hope it will recover next year but they showed a picture of the woods and there is not a leaf in sight.
