In Orlando now, staying at Mystic Dunes...visited SSR because we bought there sight unseen. They were very happy to show us a 1 bedroom and it was beautiful!!! Soooo happy for our purchase!!! Loved SSR!!!
I also love the look and feel of SSR and have since the 80's when DW was a CM at DLR & we had trips through Disney Travel and they were called something else. This was before Disney Institute. We had to walk down to what is now DTD for the bus to the parks. Granted, there was only MK and the brand new EC.
We bought sight unseen earlier this year, and then had a chance to stay after we got our points. We were soo happy with SSR. Will definitely stay there again and again!
I bought SSR sight unseen as well in 2006. I just love the resort. We have stayed three different trips and my kids, teenager and young adults, just love it there too.
I've seen very few negative posts about the resort. What you will see is that some will post that they prefer other resorts and reasons why and you'll see discussions of the affects (most negative) that has had on the system itself for other members.

I agree, there really isn't any negative posts about SSR, the larger size of the resort tends to be a point people bring up, but it is very spread out and doesn't ever feel crowded (okay Artist's Palette can get crowded at peak times, but the food is good). Once a new resort is built (BLT right now) negative focus shifts. Even though I was raised: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Others have nothing to say if they aren't complaining!
