Scenerio: My daughter and I have been to Disneyland a few times but not since the Anniversary celebrations. She is due to have some very serious surgery soon and so we plan to do a crazy ONE day trip.

What should we not miss?

Some considerations:
Date: Nov 3rd and 4th
We'll have hoppers
We have agreed no sit down meals
We have seen WOC and did the Fantasmic Dessert (when it was a buffet!)
Seeing the new Parade and Firework show is a must ( are there ways to get better viewing with any packages?)
PS...my daughter is an adult but naturally we are both kids at heart.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I would try to hit the Aladdin show at California Adventure since the last show is on January 10th. It's Broadway-quality and you won't want to miss it! Get a last look at Big Thunder Ranch since it's another thing permanently shutting down as of Jan 10th. I don't know how often you like to go, but there are a lot of things closing down for awhile (I hear anywhere from 6 months to a year and a half) as they start construction on Star Wars Land - the Railroad, and the Rivers of America (Mark Twain Riverboat, sailing ship Columbia, the canoes & rafts, Tom Sawyer Island, and Fantasmic!).

There are some strategies for seeing the Paint the Night parade as well as the fireworks from good viewing spots in one night. See this thread: http://www.disboards.com/threads/pa...isneyland-forever-fireworks-strategy.3412136/

Thank You! These are all good ideas. I remember reading that things were getting closed. I will be sure to ask my daughter if there is anything she'll want to see before it goes away. I know she loves the ranch!...We have seen the Alladin show and I must agree...it's amazing.

Hard to say, depends on your preferences, but make sure to start early and make use of fastpasses to maximize your day. Usually RSR at opening or grab FP within 2-3 hrs of opening. In DL, peter pan, space mtn, indy, matterhorn, try to get done early or FP secured.

edit: just saw space mtn, jungle cruise, it's a small world will be closed for their overlays, so that takes care of those... haunted mansion holiday should still be running, possibly with FP.

As far as I know, Nov 3 and 4 are not generally very packed and between halloween but not yet christmas decorations, but who knows this year. Parks open at 10am and close at 9 (DL) and 8pm (CA) those days, with 1 PTN at 8pm

Hope your daughter is OK.

First of all, my best to you and your daughter.

All I can say is to relax, enjoy each other's company and have a fantastic time... don't miss Holiday Haunted M and Space M GG ...
