Just had to share! UPDATE..Banner is up! Pix on Post 10

A couple of months ago I was approached by the President of the Magic City Kiwanis. She had heard I took some pretty good pictures and wanted to know if I would let them use one for their art auction this year. What they want to do is have an artist do a painting of a photograph.

I showed her my all time favorite photo of the gazebo at Lake Anna in our town. She really liked it. And since, it was for charity, I told her I would grant the use of my photo for this purpose only but that I wanted an acknowlegement for the photo in their program.

In addition to having a painting made of one of my photos, she had asked if the Magic City Kiwanis could use it for the banners they hang around the city. She just stopped by my office to show me the banners! They are beautiful! They will be going up in the next couple of weeks. They will hang all Spring & Summer. I will post a photo of the banner just as soon as it goes up!

The Magic City Kiwanis were instrumental in getting the gazebo built in the first place. I feel it is such an honor to have my photo chosen!

I was sitting at my desk this morning when I heard something outside that made me look out the window. It was the city trucks and they were in the process of hanging the new banners with my photo on it!

I went home at lunch time and got my camera. Here it is!

And what a fond memory! I grew up in Barberton and can remember Lake Anna around Cherry Blossom Festival time. I can also remember dancing in front of that gazebo as a little girl when bands would play in the gazebo on Friday nights in the summer.

Thanks so much for posting the pictures- you brought back some wonderful memories for me!
