Just HAD to share my early bday gift!!! *** update:pg2 met birthmom! ***

Hi guys!!!! Tomorrow is my b'day, which I was kind of dreading ... until about an hour ago. We mailed in our adoption application LAST Tuesday .. as in one week ago today ... and just rcvd a call that we have been matched with a birthmom today!!! I am soooooo in shock right now!!!!! We had no clue this may happen so quickly!!!! We don't know all the details yet, we have to go meet with the lawyer either tomorrow or Thursday! We do know the baby is due the end of May, around our 10th anniversary!!!!

Please say quick prayer that this process will go smoothly! We had one failed adoption last summer, so we are very nervous!!!! We should hopefully know more by the end of the week!

We are adoptive parents and know exactly what you are feeling! We have three adopted children and felt the excitement each time. Actually, two times.......our youngest is the half sister of our second child and we knew nothing about this until she was born and given the first opportunity to keep the sissies together. That was six years ago.....

Best to you and hope time flies until May. DS was born May 25; a good month to be born in.[/color]

Whew ~ What a whirlwind during the last 72 hours!

We met with the birthmom and her boyfriend yesterday. They live about an hour away from us. The social worker told us that everything went REALLY well. They asked if I wanted to go Monday with her to the dr!!!!! So, I get to go with her Monday to get her ultrasound. They seem to have everything already planned. She has just been accepted to a college in the fall. She seems ready to get all this past her so she can get on with her life. She is due at the end of May. We will find out Monday if the baby is a boy or girl.

We are trying not to get too excited. We know anything could change this whole situation. It is hard not to get everytthing ready. The social worker did advise us to get the nursery done (we haven't really done anything yet) incase the birthmom asked us about the nursery. I guess we have been afraid we would "jinx" the process if we bought anything!
