This post gives me chills Now I can see what the adoptive parents of my little girl were going through, except they kind of had it sprung on them after her birth

If this is an open adoption I just have one suggestion... my Mom and I have been trying to get pictures of Lily for years (last picture I have of here was at 1, she'll be 7 this year) If they request pictures can you please part with a few in a timely manner. You can't imagine how difficult it was for me to give her up and all I'm asking for is a few photo's. Just a suggestion from a birth mom

Keeping you in my thoughts that all goes well. Did you watch Friends last night BTW? Total tear jerker!!

Preshi ~ wow! Thanks so much for your post! If you have ANY suggestions/ideas please tell me! We are totaly clueless about how to act or how to much to help her .... This has all happened so fast we haven't had much time to prepare. I am certainly not complaining
Also, if you have any gift ideas we can give her after the baby is born. I have read where some people have given their b'moms a birthstone necklace or something similar!

YES! We had planned on watching Friends even before all this happened! We started seeing previews about 2 weeks ago ... If you would have told me then we would meet our birthparent's the same day that show aired I would not have believed you!

We gave our Birthmom what I thought were 2 special gifts. The first was a baby photo album with the promise to fill it. Our daughter is now 4 and I have sent pictures of every major event from baptism to dance recital to Disney vacations. Be sure to have a plan set up so that you can send pictures even if your birthmom changes addresses. Since ours was also on her way to college we sent them to her Mom's address. Second, We have an open adoption and we see our wonderful birthmom once a year around DD birthday. I hope that she will want to continue visiting as she goes on with her own life. It is a wonderful way for our DD to know she has 2 families that love her VERY much. We are so very blessed to have our daughter and to know this special woman who brought her to us. I could never give her anything that would begin to thank her for what she has done for me. I pray that your are as blessed as we are.
