Just had the Engagement Party

Hi Everyone!!

I just had my Engagment Party this past Saturday and it was a blast!!. It went by so fast. I had to do a lot of the prep and planning myself because my Maid of Honor lives in Germany and she didnt get home for the Holiday Season until Friday. I can't believe how fast it went by! I can't imagine what its going to be like on the Wedding Day, it must be like a snap of your fingers. To think with a year plus of planning and poof it's over in a flash . . .but it's so worth it!

I had a "Mad Hatter" party. We made Champagne (French) Martinis and had the Hard Twisted Teas. In the kitchen we had the paper lanterns in bright colors and we strung a deck of playing cards as streamers. I made "eat me" cookies and tied little tags that said "drink me" on the stems of the glasses. I also purchased on Disney.com a set of four canisters (on clearance!!) that feature the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the Door Mouse, and of course, the Mad Hatter; they made the cutest center pieces. In the front Hall I put signs leading up the stair that said "This Way", "That Way", "Go Back", etc

I had so much fun . . .I cant wait until 2007!!!!

That sounds like sooo much fun. I was hoping to get a Mad Tea Party bridal shower. With everything going on and the time of year we picked, since we haven't had one yet, I'm not expecting one. We don't live near anyone either so...

Oh well! I always love seeing the pictures from other people's soirees! Please post them ASAP! I saw those canisters you were talking about!

Just think... all you 2007 brides will be making site visits and signing the papers this year!!

Congratulations...I too just had my engagement party like 2 weeks ago (so much fun) and I can not wait until June 2007 either...what month and location are you looking at?

WP for the ceremony. Not sure where we are having the reception yet, or how many people. I thought I had a clue, but after a few coversations with the family, I don't. I am going to wait until after the Holidays to have the official budget talks, etc. I would like to have the ADH, but if it's a smaller crowd, maybe Ariels.
The goal date is Sept. 28th 2007. I originally wanted it in May, but my MOH, who is like my sister, has become the World Traveler these days and is moving from Germany to Australia and will not be back until Aug of 07. My FMIL is kind of freakin out about the hurricane season, but I have no worries. Plus there will be the Food and Wine Festival and Mickeys NSSHP!

I know isn't that crazy...we were engaged in August and I was like ughh I have to wait until next year??? but know it is only like 4 mos away!
