Just had my first ever MRI

Its funny that you posted this.....I had one on tues and halfway through I freaked out! FULL BLOWN panic attack! I started sweating,shaking,my heart felt like it was going to explode and if they would not have pulled me out I would have found a way out myself... lol they told me to take 2 zanax and come back in 2 days for the rest.I went back and took my meds before,they covered my eyes but it was just as bad and I got through it but if it had lasted for any longer I would have stopped.I had tears comming from my eyes I think alot of the problem was the repeated noises (i get panic attacks) and that I could take my pain meds for my back and neck (because of the xanax) and laying in that way for so long hurt.
I will not be doing it again so I hope they got all they needed!

I've had several MRIs so I guess I can say I'm sort of used to them. I really try to think positive thoughts while in that tube!!

Hope your shoulder is fine.

Btw....I'm starting to look for investment type of boards and websites. Please share any good ones out there.

That was a problem, too. My shoulder had actually been feeling fine all that day but after about 2/3 of the MRI, it really started aching. I think it was from not being able to move it and it being held in place with a firm plastic thing that was pushing into the back of my shoulder.

I can handle the confinement by closing my eyes but the noises get unnerving after awhile!

I got through my one MRI by taking my brother's advice - just close your eyes and picture yourself on some tropical island, like a Corona commercial. Worked for me anyway.
