Took a spur of the moment add on day to a work trip to San Diego. I am yet another WDW vet wanting to experience the magic of Disneyland! Here is my day as a solo traveler.

Arrived at 7:30 and parked in Woody lot. Bus to park wasn't bad at all and actually was glad to not have to walk hardly at all at the end of the day so I'm glad I chose that option.

Rope drop at 8 Disneyland. Tried Space but it was down first thing so went to Matterhorn first thing. Love being a single rider it makes it go so fast!

Went and rode BTMR, POC, Indy, HM, Splash, all with no wait. Went back and rode SM in single rider no wait. Got all this done (and a churro) before 10am.

Hopped over to DCA. Used FP for GRR. Super fun ride! Got soaked but was great on a hot day! Went over to Soarin' for FP #2. Got GotG FP and grabbed a pretzel while waiting for return time.

GotG is my new fave ride anywhere. I love TOT at HS, but you take that ride and add Baby Groot? LIFE CHANGING. I actually got a Baby Groot that sits on my shoulder. So stinkin' cute I can't even handle it. Ended up riding this 4 times throughout the day.

Went back to Disneyland and rode SM, POC, HM, and Jungle cruise.

Did RSR single rider twice - so awesome. Like Test track but doesn't jerk you around and theming that is out of this world good.

Overall, had such a great time I got an AP!! Was such a great day once I figured out MaxPass and single rider stuff. So different than WDW but each park has its own set of magic. And rope drop is a must - everything was pretty much walk on outside of Fantasyland until 10am.

Going back Thursday night! Thanks to everyone on this board that helped me research!

Awesome! We love Sundays at Disneyland. People tend to sleep in until 10-11 AM so those first few hours make it very easy to get on everything in 10 minutes or less. Add in MaxPass and we can do everything we want to at both parks and be gone by the time the crowds start coming in.

It's great to hear some good news about Sundays and how good a time you had. I just keep hearing how crowded it is and our next rip starts on a Sun so I was getting nervous!

Yup. Agree. I always like to think that I'm rewarded for being early. I haven't been in a few weeks (home in Chicago for one more day). I'll be back at the park this Sunday, though :-).

Then we'll possibly be passing at one point. We will be there Sunday as well :)

Wonkakid - we’ll be a family of 4 decked out in Cubs gear ... easy way to spot hubby & DS (9), they wear matching Cubs hats & shirts each day at the parks!! Off season, they mix it up with Hawks gear. In 2015, hubby had Hawks jersey on, our ONLY sour event with a CM ever, the CM became very verbally aggressive about how hubby shouldn’t show his face in a Hawks jersey in Kings’ land. We do hear yells of “go Cubs” often, though :-) ... we’ll be there in 2 weeks, easily identified by Cubs gear :yay:

Keep an eye out for me. I usually wear a dark blue Cubs cap and am often found in, on or around Buzz Lightyear :-).

I’ll be with my orange bird purse and matching jewelry and have a dark red pixie. I’m pretty distinct without trying.

Sundays are great. They are open to a lot of APs, but the typical AP does not drag themselves out of bed and to the park that early. It will take at least 2 hours, a lot of times 3 until the crowds trickle in. We pretty much only do Sundays as we mostly do DL (Sun is EMH at DCA), for four years straight now. Enjoy your trip :)

Thanks!
Unfortunately Sun. is the day we arrive and we should get there about noon. So we may not beat the AP'rs after all.
Oh well, it's still Disneyland!
