Even though I used online check-in, set up MDE, all dining AND FP+ times.... It still took them an hour and a half to make it all work. They say it is fixed, but I guess I won't really know until we hit the parks on Monday.

Fingers crossed...

I do like the MagicBands as a key feature.

I was not the only one at the desk looking for help with MDE. My problem seemed relatively easy compared to what I overheard with the people on either side of me.

The CM did say that a lot of people have been having trouble, but it is way more reliable than a few months ago. He also said that hopping and more FP won't be rolling out for a few more months.

Sorry to hear that. Crossing my fingers that they worked out all your snags and everything works from here on out.

Hope things go smoothly from now on. Be sure and take any back up documentation you have with you in case you have trouble at the gates (and the RFID ticket you put on MDE if you have one). We were turned away at the gates with MBs we had used the trip before with the same active, attached tickets - I had DHs RFID ticket so they were able to read that and let him thru - I only had a paper ticket that was linked, so I had to leave the gate and go to the back of the line at Guest Relations to get it squared away. Totally lost all of our efforts and advantage that morning of getting up early with a little one and being at the gate early. When they work they are great - when they don't they are a frustrating, vacation-eating mess! And we weren't the only ones in the lines we stood in that day having problems either. Good Luck!
And make sure you take screen shots of all your FP+s on your phone if you can - that's what we had to show to use our FP+s over 1/2 the time we were there late January - our MBs only worked on and off for our FP+s.

Sorry you had problems. Just curious - why did the CM need to do anything at all? We just checked out today and didn't even get instruction from our CM at check in. Like you, I had set everything up on MDE so I guess the CM figured I knew what I was doing. The only issue we had was our 1st day at a park I was the only one with a band that allowed entrance. I thought I must've done something wrong on MDE but guest services had a device that reset all the bands and fixed the issue. The CM assured me it was a glitch and nothing I did wrong. Otherwise, everything worked like a charm -- we enjoyed having the bands very much. Hope you have a great trip!

DVCJones...how are crowd levels at your resort and at the parks?

I had a ticket that needed to be added and MDE wouldn't all one to add my FP+ reservations to it. When doing that, they found a bunch of other issues that needed fixing.

I don't know yet. Just hung around the resort today and DTD. DTD was really busy. In past years, we found it less crowded during the day. The parking lot was crazy. They had it blocked off and had CMs directing traffic.

A CM told me she thought crowds would clear out a little after Monday....

Well, who was doing this? Had you called tech support before your trip? Was it just a front desk person? The front desk people, in my experience, think they know what they are doing but often really don't, and see problems (and fixes) that aren't there (or needed).

Good luck to you with the magic bands.
I truly hope they managed to fix it for you once and for all.

We were there in March, and our bands got the accounts all mess up. (i.e. My band has my info and my FP+, but the charging part goes to my friend's name and her pin. So, I was not able to charge dining credits and payment to my band. And we couldn't switch bands because the FP+ were on it properly.)
They fixed it for us, and the next morning is all mess up again. I can't tell you how scared I am walking to the FP+ worrying it won't work.

All the CMs keep saying is "it is weird", but cannot fix it.

I hope they sought out these tech difficulties before we head there again.

Today was going to be a water park day for us. But due to the weather we thought we would hit a park. We were up early enough to make rope drop. I checked to see what kind of FP were available and all the ones worth getting like TSM were not available. I realize it is Easter, but had the legacy FP system still been in place, we could have easily changed our plans spur of the moment. FP+ Disappointment #2 Still having a good time. And the weather looks like it will be great for the rest of the week. Going to stick with the touring plan I had to make months ago...
