Just got the new planning DVD.. anyone feel the same way I do???

Although I liked the new one (it is DISNEY, after all), I think the previous one was better. The dream sequences dragged a little, leaving little time for actual information about the parks, resorts, and dining.

BTW, we aren't complaining about something that's free, we're just giving our opinion. Just my 2 cents.

I actually liked the new planning video. I think it did a really good job of setting the stage for YOAMD.

Didn't the previous video have the guy yelling about the "triple mountain trifecta" I was not a fan of that guy.

We liked it! We've already watched it several times! But we watch ALL the WDW planning videos several times when we get them, before a trip, when we're missing WDW etc... All the videos have their strong points and weaknesses. I did think though that they did not show the parks as much as in previous ones. However we did like all the segments and it broadens the scope of the main part by watching all of it.

The storyline was ok but the substance and information was lacking. They need to give you a much deeper look into the hotels and restaurants. Its a vacation planning video. How can you get a feel for those hotels on those quick little bios. They need to really show us where were going to be.

Gotta agree here...but not only with this dvd.

Is it part of Disney's overall marketing scheme to purposefully not give enough information? My first day looking on the internet, I learned far more valuable, useful information than from planning tapes and the actual Disney website. It's strange. :scratchin

I'm kind of on the fence about this new dvd. I like it much better than last years, but honestly I'm a bigger fan of the pre-dvd vacation planning videos.

This is kind of OT, but does anyone remember the Dick Tracy style video from 91 or 92? That was the very first one I watched and I LOVED it! Actually... we still have it and watch it (along with all other planning videos/dvds) to get psyched up for our upcomming trip (not that we need much psyching at all!)

No! I enjoyed it.

The one thing I like about the planning videos is Disney has achieved what they want most...they give you just enough to tease and leave you hungry for more. You can only get more by planning a trip.

Agreed! I think that it the point!

I was a little disappointed also. I was hoping they would change the shots of the resorts, but they just used the same and changed the commentary.

I just got mine today and I was kind of neutral about it, too.

My BIG complaint - the whole dvd had this horrible green tint! Was anyone else's like that? It was horrible seeing Donald with a green beak. I know it's not my tv because regular shows and other DVD's look just fine.

I was very disappointed. I was hoping to see more of the parks so I could anticipate being there. It was just a big commercial telling me to come and I might win a prize....highly unlikely anyway. It took forever to receive the DVD. I'd already booked the trip by the time it got here. I felt there was very little actual information. The kids section showed more than anything else but those kids were much older than my child and he wouldn't be allowed on almost all of the rides they rode! I would really have liked to see more clips of rides, shows, parades, etc.

Amy, I did not have that problem. You should order another one. :)

Bummer, I got mine while I was in WDW the first weekend in Dec and have been so busy that I have not watched it yet....no matter if it is a good video or bad video I can promise that it will make me want to go back right away!
