Wasn't sure where to post this :confused3

I just recieved our photo album - part of the 'memories' promotion. We were able to design it online and fill it with photopass photos, our own and stock shots supplied by Disney or just one of those options, entirely up to you.

It was great fun putting it together, so many designs so that you could really personalise it. We chose a personalised cover with a picture of us infront of the castle and gold lettering of the dates we went.

I was nervous thinking that maybe when it turned up it may not be that great (quality etc) but it is FANTABULOUS! I am so happy, I can't stop looking at it. Soooooo worth it!!!!

Glad to hear the positive report, I worked on mine over the weekend and it's been painfully slow process (mostly uploading my own photos). I can't wait to get mine finished and ordered.

Yes! I found the uploading of your own photos soooo slow - if I uploaded too many some of them wouldn't upload so I was repeating the same process over. I don't know how you are doing it but I found it was much quicker to upload one photo at a time (yes, I know, that sounds laborious lol) but infact, for me, it ended up being a much quicker process. Hope that helps :)

We went during that promo in Sept/Oct and I still have't done my book. Hopefully tomorrow I can work on it. I hope it still is available.

I just love making the photobook. I am going back in May and plan on doing another one. The photopass site is slow, but soooo worth it in the end!:)

I am just waiting for mine to be delivered from our wedding/honeymoon, was so much fun to sit down and design the book. Cannot wait to see it

The books were great, however for the prices they charge I wont do a Disney one again, unless it's included.

So glad you are happy with it! I have ordered mine and am anxiously awaiting its arrival!!!

Do you know how long delivery took after you got the shipment email? I looked for a tracking number but couldn't find one? Thanks!

Pre-ordered the CD and photo book today for our April trip ($149.99 for both - good deal :cheer2: ). Glad to hear that the books turn out so wonderfully! Thanks for sharing :thumbsup2

How many pages are in the book and approximately how many 4x6 photos will fit on a page?

Not a lot of the pre-designed pages have 4x6 on them. You can resize/zoom/etc from the site. You can create pages from scratch, too. The album is 8.5 x 11 and comes with 20 pages. You can add additional pages at a per page cost.

You can add a digital scrapbook for $15 extra. Here is an excerpt from mine:

I just spent weeks putting together a Diz PhotoPass photo book and was very pleased with the results until the cost came up - $170 with taxes!!!! I added several additional pages, which is where the cost added up, but wow! I know I can do one through Shutterfly for significantly less than 1/2 of the cost for the same number of pages. I am seriously debating whether to order the PhotoPass book at that price, or put the money aside for our next Diz trip - once we add shipping, it would amount to the same we'd have to pay for a booking deposit on another trip. I am curious - did anyone purchase a book at that cost and feel as if it was worth the money?? And those who got it for free and loved the results - in retrospect, would you have spent that much for it?

Yes, I will be ordering one for my next trip - when I last looked it was $79 and I think it is worth it - the fun of putting it together and a beautiful keepsake that my family looks at regularly. I LOVE our cover, we chose a night-time shot of us in front of the castle :goodvibes Although I will be very careful not to go over the set amount as I am sure thats where it can add up ... however, at $3.50 per double page, I might go over by one or two ;)

I did the pre-order PhotoPass CD and Photobook, and found a discount code that I was able to apply to my extra pages, so I think my cost for the photobook was a little less than $170.

However, even if I was spending $170 on the photobook, I would still think it was worth the money. The book is printed by Jostens and is very high quality - a sewn binding instead of glued, think paper, and crisp, clear photos.

What really sold me was the ability to use Disney-specific graphics and backgrounds in my photobook. None of the other photobook sites (Shutterfly, Snapfish, Kodak) had such clip art or backgrounds.

I love photography and photobooks, so I was willing to pay the high price for such a nice souviner and memory. This was my main souviner from our most recent trip besides a t-shirt and ornament, so this helped me justify the cost as well.

So, as with everything else, the "is it worth it" question may vary from person to person because everyone values thing differently.

Hope that helps!

No.

As you said, nowadays there are so many great photography sites that pretty much let you do the same thing. I did the photosession last year and while the pictures were "nice", truthfully now that I've got a 1/2 decent dslr, my pictures are just as nice.
The big selling point is that I'm able to get in the picture but once again last year every photo pass cm was more than willing to take the picture with my camera.
I'm in Southern NJ and most of the office supply stores sell and make photobucks with the same quality paper.

I'm debating for our next trip but since the price has gone up, I really doubt it. I'm a scrapbooker (just started) so truthfully my books have been just as nice at 1/2 the cost.

Thanks for all who responded to my original post. While I was debating, my 30 days ran out. I never got a warning email so I wrote to them and they graciously extended my photos for another 10 days. It took almost losing the book I had worked on for so many hours, not to mention a 20% discount that was going that week, to realize I really did want the book. I just got it and it is really nice! However, like someone else mentioned, whether it is "worth it" is really a matter of opinion. I did do a different vacation with Shutterfly and their product was just as nice. But...this gave me the specific disney graphics and the photopass pics so I'm glad I did it this time. Next time I may do the bundle with a CD like another poster mentioned. Either way, you can never go wrong with great photos of a wonderful Disney trip!

Snapfish has Cars backgrounds and Disney Princess backgrounds. Not mickey per see, but if someone is looking for cheaper options, that certainly works.
