Well, it took all day, but I'm finally feeling much better. It still hurts to open my mouth very wide. How long will it take for me to be back to normal??? Also, for those of you who have had your teeth pulled what foods/drinks did you have?

me too
well last week anyway

painful isn;t it

...ooh....ouch...I had that done like 4 years ago....I think you need a drink.

I had mine out about 5 years ago. Took probably a week before I felt normal again.

Had some great drugs though in the meantime... :sunny:

Owchie, that sounds painful. I had to get two cavities filled yesterday. It hurt a little bit, but I did what I always do when going to the dentist. I brought along my cd player, listened to Disney music, & imagined I was there. :cloud9:

Milkshakes baby!!! :rotfl: Seriously, my parents took me to get mine taken out (I just graduated college) and they promised they would get me a chocolate shake from steak n' shake. I remember having a "dream" while I was under that the office gave me a coupon for a free shake from McDonalds and I was so upset about that. When I "woke up" I had my Steak n' shake shake and I told my mom about my dream. She told me it wasn't a dream, that it had actually happened. :rotfl: I swear I was so out of it for several hours later. I was feeling better the next day, however. I know that might not be usual. Hope you recover quickly.

Shakes are good. Just don't drink through a straw. You can suck the clot out and get a dry socket.

DS got his out a year ago. He ate ice cream, pudding, soup, Jello. Then he went to soft foods like mac and cheese, tuna salad, etc.

He got his out about 4 or 5 days before we went on vacation. It made vacation interesting, but he was eating soft foods by then and just being careful. Can't say he wanted hard tacos or anything like that, but he was feeling pretty normal and not needing pain meds. He really did quite well.

But he's a swimmer and he had to wait at least a week before they'd let him back in the pool. The doc said no matter how clean you keep a pool, there are germs. And the last thing you want is a germ getting down in the bone. Yikes. Get well quick.

Are you all talking about having all 4 out together?

I had one out yesterday (and 2 fillings) and I'm feeling sorry for myself!

Never had any of my wisdom teeth removed ~ so I can't help you on that one.

Sending you :grouphug: that you will feel better soon.

I had all 4 removed at once, they were all impacted in the bone. I had it done in the hospital since I would never let the them put me under general anst. in their office. I was actually told to drink out of a straw but that could be because the place where they came out was stitched close and I could only open my mouth enough to get a straw into there. I lost some weight then LOL...it took about 4-6 weeks until I could open and eat regularly!
