I had an EA reservation for 8 days in dec at $296.00. I just spent 20 minutes playing with codes and got it to come down twice and now I'm at $247.00! :cool1:

Question is.... Do you try every combination of those codes from Mousesavers? That could take a while... But if I get a system and do it over a couple of weeks... It's kinda fun for a while anyhow, kinda like spinning the wheel on the Boardwalk.

Do you try every combo? Does it ever pay off???

Can't speak for anyone else, but I do try a fair number of them! :)

I think of it as a game... and I almost always end up saving at least $100 on a weekly rental. To me, that's worth the time!

I used KISS2 (thanks Mary) with Dollar for 8 days in December, compact car $147.96. I'm still holding out for a National EA deal but for now I'll stick with Dollar.

I read somewhere about the KISS2 code, but never saw any details about it - with my luck, I would need to show some type of coupon or something. Can anyone provide more details about using this code, such as which car companies it can be used for and if a coupon is needed?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! for pointing me to National and Mousesavers. A cyber hug to you for saving me $$$!

I've been trying all kinds of codes and coupons through Costco, Walmart etc. and nothing worked. The best I could do was $417 for 8 days 12/24-12/31 from Alamo for an Suv.

I went to Mousesavers and used the contract ID from Amex and a coupon code for an additional $20 off and reserved a full size for $216! :yay:
Not an Suv but a full size will do for us 3. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw $216 after seeing nothing but $400's-$700's for weeks!

Thanks again for pointing me to the right direction!

From Mousesavers.com:

Good in Florida only. Blackout dates may apply. Valid through 12/31/06. Source: Kissimmee/St. Cloud Convention & Visitors Bureau.

I got that rate using the AAA contract ID and NO other codes. When the reservation was confirmed it had a product code filled in.

I don't think we are actually allowed to post codes, so if you need more info, PM me. Mousesavers has it all. Thanks, Mary!

You are welcome! Nice work there, big savings!

Make sure you have your American Express card when you pick the car up! Also, that contract ID is returning awful rates for 2007 bookings (for example $1700 for an intermediate for 17 days)

Cheers

We always try every cobo - just the other day, using codes and combos, saved $24.38 on a rental

Thanks! We never leave home without our Amex!

WooHoo! Between a tip from this thread and an Entertainment book coupon, I'm down to $209 for 8 days!

But now somehow I can't play with the ressie anymore in the site, it tells me this:

Please verify that you have entered the correct information.

Multiple Coupon(s) quantities not supported by WEB.

every time I try to bring up the ressie. Though I did call today and the woman was able to bring up the info, including the $209.00 rate. She said it was confirmed.

Weird, tho, huh?

It did that to me too... i stacked the amex deal with the gas card, and the $40 off a weekly rental coupon, and it confirmed it. When I went back it gave me that multiple jazz and wouldnt pull up the reservation :guilty:

The $40. coupon from National brought my 6 days in December down to $100.
January rental for 10 days is now $207.
Feb. for a week is now $182.
So the $40. coupon is somewhat of a help.
I was just comparing the prices to last year, basically the same ammount of days.
Jan. was $125.
Feb. was $124.
Ahh for the good ole days.
