I just purchased AP's for myself and my family!! :cool1: :woohoo:

Here's my rookie question: Are pictures taken of us for the passes? Or do the passes just have our names?

I'm trying to figure out if the whole family should wait in line at the AP center, or if I can wait and get all of our passes.

Thanks! :)

If you have a voucher of some sort, you take your lovely little voucher to the ticket booth and they exchange your voucher for little cardboard-y pieces of paper that you can use to get into DL or DCA, and you can use them in the FP machines.

When the line at the Bank is short or you are ready - you take your little cardboard-y pieces of paper and stand in line and get your picture taken. Everyone in your family who has an AP will have to have their picture taken. It was actually pretty quick for us when we had it done in May. I love to see my youngest's picture and he loves to hold his AP and look at his own picture, too.

When you go to enter one of the parks your picture will pop up and they can compare what you look like - so they know it's you.

I saw some girls who looked like they were cheating the system when we first used our passes - one girl's pass had her picture on it and I am pretty sure the other girl was using the first girl's younger sister's pass, because the CM at the turnstile called a Lead and had to get special permission to let her in. They just told the Lead that she hadn't had her picture taken in a long time - or she had had an AP for a really long time and just hadn't updated her picture. Seemed kinda scammy to me.

Brady's Mom is right, they do take your picture.

Just wanted to add that the AP processing at Disneyland is now at the Plaza Pavilion.

Congratulations on your AP's! :wizard:

I recall that the first thing in the morning was the least crowded at the bank, I am thinking most people don't want to waste valuable Disney time first thing in the morning.

Congrats!

If you got the electronic ticket voucher from disneyland.com, you can just go straight to the turnstiles with it, and they'll print out a ticket-sized voucher for the AP. And you take that, whenever you want during that day (THAT day) to the AP center in DL (not in DCA...no camera for APs in DCA).

If you got the voucher elsewhere, then you'll have to jump through more hoops; but disneyland.com e-ticket, you're good to go (to the turnstiles). :)

Yes, every pass holder will need to take a photo. When the passes are scanned at the turnstile a large image of your picture appears on their screen.

We repurchased passes about a month or so after they had expired, and they reused the same pictures from the previous passes, we were kinda hoping for new mugshots.

Yes, my whole family got pictures taken in May after a whole day in the park & we look awful!!!! :rotfl2:

Yup, everyone has to have a photo done, if someone is not there and you've not had an AP in the past 2 years they won't be able to process the AP. We asked for new photos this year when we upgraded from the Deluxe to Premium because DD9 looked quite different from her previous photo, as did DD13 (then 12). They will redo your photos but they may charge you an additional $20 for them, they did ours for nothing because we were upgrading and they would be printing new APs for us anyway. :)

And yes, your photo pops up on the screen, along with a Happy Bday message if you enter the parks on your bday. :) Try to make sure you have the right AP too, I used to carry DD9s with me and I'd give her hers before we went in, once I gave her mine by accident and the CM joked about taking our APs away because we tried to use each other's. DD9 wasn't amused, she thought the CM was serious, I knew she wasn't because she was smiling but DD was scared, pretty sure that was the day we bought her her own lanyard pouch so she could carry her own AP with her. LOL :)

Congrats on having APs!! Enjoy it!

I am glad they use that kind of ID as opposed to that darned finger scan at WDW.....
