Just got home from Cypress Point and ?'s

We just got back from 8 nights as well and took the timeshare tour for $75.00 Disney bucks. The realtor said their were some code restrictions that wouldn't allow them to put in elevators at the time, but they are adding them as part of the upgrade??

Best $63.00 bones a night I have ever spent. The units area dated, but clean. We even had our TV go out, but they brought another up right away. We were on the second, would've been interesting to see them get a bigh screen up to the third floor with no elevator.

Hi Browntrout and Everyone:

Do you all happen to have any photos posted anywhere of Cypress Pointe? I am seriously considering this place for the fall, elevators or no elevators, because it meets all other criteria. We have stayed at great places (with great deals) and we have stayed at some real run-of-the-mill places. We are very budget-conscious, but we do travel, because I am addicted, and do everything else on the cheap so that we can. So should a VERY middle class family of four with two girls 5 & 8 enjoy this place? The price is right, the location is right, the pool is right, and the space is right....I guess I can take "a little worn" well enough, if it's clean -- I'll be posting about photos as well....let me know what you think - I sure appreciate your views~!

p.s. the Hotelkingdom rate for the 2-br is $64 - is this the best deal going right now? How was the timeshare tour? Awful or tolerable? I might consider that myself!

We booked thru hotelkingdom also and felt it was a remarkable deal. Note that the timeshare tour is not required. If you do take, hold out for a better deal. When we were hesitant, they upped it to 100 Disney Dollars. We still didn't go.
I do have some pictures of the units which I can e-mail to you if you want to pm me with your address, or suggest where you would like them posted?

I have photos that we took on our trip last year if anyone would like me to send them out just email or PM me with your addy. I'd more than happy to send them along.:sunny:

i'm gonna request 1 of the new ones any chance? did any of you guys?

we were there this year 3/12 thru 3/15. I called in advance to ask if I could get a refurbished unit (I also booked thru hotelkingdom.com) but was told that the refurbished units were reserved for owners (which I find to be completely understandable) but when checking in I could ask if one was available for the time I would be there. When we checked in, the agent appeared to be checking availability when I asked if a refurbished unit was available & she was not able to find an open newer 2 bedroom unit. I was then placed in a quiet building on the first floor, non smoking just as I had requested during my initial reservation.

The timeshare tour wasn't bad. A free decent breakfast and they kept it to the promised 90 minutes. Used the Disney gift certificates at downtown disney with no problems. We were just polite about how nice there property was and when it came time for them to push I simply told them I would never make any investment of that magnitude without months of research and that was it.

As long as these rates hold up we'll go back, but I'm sure I'lll pay the extra for the Grand Villas next time.

For those of you interested in using timeshares, check out Timeshare Users' Group. I joined and have had much valuable input. You can also log in as a guest. There are reviews and newsgroups related to all aspects of travel and timesharing. The one thing you will learn from this group is Do Not buy from the developer. Resales are much cheaper. TUG has member listings of for sale and wanted to buy. The address is www.tug2.net.
