Just got home. - 1 Man's Opinions

Hi. We were at WDW at CSR from September 16th to 23rd. We were at MNSSHP on the 19th, too. If you were at DHS on the 22 and went on the TSM ride between 11 and 12pm we saw you. I saw a man with a lanyard with a LGMH.

We went to Fantasmic that night and the boat was at the ending. We were amazed with the show, despite the light rain.

As for MNSSHP, it was the best money we ever spent. To have the park with only 9000 others...wow. We rode Big Thunder Mountain 3 times in a row without exiting and saw the fireworks from there. At one point the sky was lit up so bright I could have read a watch. All from the top of BTM.

As for CSR, we were in 9B as well, 9553, one of the rooms nearest El Centro and heard nothing the whole time we were there, not a peep. Maybe the partiers were closer to you.

And we got a towel animal. More like a towel china doll. She was quite detailed with hair and smocking and everything.

Glad you had a great trip. We did, too.

That is awesome to read about someone so close during the same time. Actually we were at DHS on the 18th.

I'm glad you had the boat for your show, must've been out of service for just a night or 2. Instead of all the characters being on the boat at the end, they were just on the stage waving. The boat is usually the highlight for us.

I didn't know attendance for MNSSHP party that night, but I believe that #, it was E-M-P-T-Y !! :woohoo:

Our rooms were 9629 and 9630 overlooking the pond between our building and main entrance. I don't recall the China Doll, but do remember walking past a rabbit towel animal everyday. Our window looked like this:

Nice to hear you had a good time as well.

OP, sounds like you really enjoyed your trip, that's great! :thumbsup2 To others who have gone recently, sounds like you had good trips, too! Gets me more excited for our upcoming trip to wdw for 9 nites at CBR, we are going in Nov! :cool1:

OP, was wondering about that ham and cheese croissant you had at the french bakery. Sounds yummy, wondering if it was something you got with your ddp or had to pay oop? Cheap enough, just wondering. Interesting to hear you are reconsidering the ddp for your family. Seems it would probably be more of a deal with more in the family, we just have 2. We got the ddp for this trip for the first time because free dining was suddenly offered. Not positive the trade off for the great code rate we had was worth it, but I think so. Probably a little bit better of a deal, because we got a small room discount, like the rooms went from regular season rate to value rate. Its sort of like we are paying 500 for dining myself and DD18 cause that's what the cost was to switch(had no dining before). Thing is with Epcot, we usually want a little bit of something from several places around the world. Like you said, I'm sure we could eat somewhat cheaper than that 500, though that's less than the regular cost of 683 for the ddp for 2A, sooo...

Did it seem the end of Fantasmic was just changed with something else added instead, or show abruptly ended and not closed up very well, like it was unexpected? Maybe something like you said the boat was just out of commission for that week and was being repaired. I suppose they don't just have extras sitting around! Does seem it would be incomplete without it.

Last yr we only saw 3 lmgh's. One girl we met was really nice, there on her own, and met another woman with her family, but one person we saw wasn't too friendly wondered why she had her lmgh on if she didn't want to be bothered. Oh, well. This year there are lots of people going in Nov so maybe we will see some of them!! :goodvibes

Btw, did the other family you travelled with have an awesome time on their first visit to the world? Bet that was fun being with them for that! :goodvibes

The ham and cheese croissant is at Boulangerie Patisserie and can be purchased as a SNACK on DDP. I thought it was very good, pretty big too. As far as dining plan,I still think it's a good deal and still would reccommend anyone on a first visit to do it because I feel it adds to the whole Disney experience. We had free dining this trip so it's a no-brainer. But I think were spending to much time planning around our meals and sitting around at restaraunts. My kids are at the age to go-go-go and I would like for them to be able to. Secondly, I'm far from a health nut, but I just feel so glutonous at the table service - massive portions, huge desserts, it's just to much food. I think a great idea for a whole new thread would be for people to post all their best food deal finds in the parks. I'll bet you could do a whole week for a family of 4 around $400-500 following everyones tips and deals. I also think the Combination platter at San Angel CS in Mexico is a great deal for 8.00, a lot of food. I'll bet you and your DD could split it.

It sounds like the Fantasmic boat was just out of service for a night, and yes, it did seem to abruptly end. All the characters who are normally on the boat were just on the stage waving. You could tell something big was missing.

Yes, the other family had a blast. They were making plans for their next visit 2 days into the trip. (prob. without us though :lmao: )

Enjoy your Nov. trip and report back.
