Just got HHI for New Year's Eve!

We decided to mix things up a bit and try HHI for NYE and the first week in January (studio for the incredibly low points). I know it's quiet on the Island, but wondered how others have enjoyed their winter trips. I hope we can travel to Savanna during this visit. And some restaurants must stay open too.

Any suggestions?

I, too, would like to know how the island is during that time. The points are so low, it makes it very tempting to try it!

Sorry, no suggestions offhand, just a lot of envy. We have a very busy, stressful holiday, and sometimes I'd just like to run away to HHI for NYE.

I just made ours for Dec. 28-Jan 2!! This will be our 3rd year in a row for NYE at HHI. We love being at the last campfire of one year, and the first of the next.

The island is quiet, but there are still lots of restaurants open. I don't remember any being closed that we called. In fact, Dh and I went out for dinner while the kids were in their NYE parties, and came back for the ball drop around the pool. Haven't made it down to Savannah yet, can't help there.

We have been to HHI for many xmas weeks nd 3 times for NYE(we usually do this after our wdw xmas trip). Most of the island is open that week, but many close after the holiday for a break. We have had diverse weather- 60-70's and then 30-40's! The resort has activities planned that week..one year we did early dinner and back to our villa for NYE, last year we got delivery-pizza, wings, etc and had a nice evening watched the ball drop from our room. We went to movie, played mini-golf and walked the beach....read alot and enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the marsh, water activity. Visited Beaufort for a day along the water..fun shopping and historic sites. Love HHI this time of year..we also go each summer(going for the 4th july week this year), but that is a bit different..beaching it, etc.
