My now DF and I got engaged last weekend during a short holiday trip to the Florida Keys. He is a definite Disney fanatic and I love Disney as well so we are considering a small Disney wedding in Jan of 2011. We would probably limit the guest list to around 50 people. Ideally I would like to have a DFTW versus an Escape but I'm not opposed to the latter. So to my questions....

DFTW brides can book their locations/venues a year in advance, right?

When are Escape brides able to book?

When you book either of them, how much of a deposit is required and when is that due?

Thanks in advance..

Sharon :)

I believe most ceremony venues can be booked 8 months out. The Wedding Pavillion can be booked at 12 months.

Escape Deposit is $750 but will probably change for 2011
Wishes minimum for 2010 is $12,000 with a $2000 deposit.

...but if you do an Escape wedding you can't book any venue til 8 months out, even the Wedding Pavilion. :thumbsup2

Congrats! And just remember that if you go with Escape, there is a limit of 20 people!

Unless you pay $500+tax and you can invite 5 extra guests

Wishes...Mon.-Thurs. it's $12K minimum before taxes and service charge and it goes up from their for a Fri-Sun. wedding.

Escape brides can call 12 months in advance but can not book until 8 months prior to the wedding.Escape wedding start at $4750 and it includes tax, you can upgrade and add as you go along.

Hope this helps...:thumbsup2

Congrats and happy planning! Just wanted to add that not all locations are booked at 12 months out for Wishes brides. I believe the ceremony locations are and some of the reception locations (like Ariel's), but certain reception locations (I know GF ballrooms fall under this) are held for you and then you officially book at 8 months and sign your contract. Another bride can't take the reception location from you but if a Corporate group decides to book it for a convention you would lose it. For example, we have the Wedding Pavilion for our ceremony but won't know if we have our reception venue until December.

And some Wishes venues, like Atlantic Dancehall, Ariel's and those inside the theme parks, can be booked more than 12 months out, if they're available!

I'm sure this is all very overwhelming.... :cutie:

Really? My consultant told me 1 year for both my Epcot ceremony and Prop Shop. Not that it matters now.

Thanks for all the information and good wishes!! Yes, this is definitely very overwhelming. At least we have a few months to think about it before we would actually book anything.
